Santana新專輯成績斐然

Santana的新專輯Corazon已成全美拉丁双白金唱片。

Corazon是Santana第一張拉丁專輯，而且非常成功，這套唱片於今年五月才推出，已經賣了12萬張，RIAA宣佈它是拉丁專輯榜双白金唱片。

Corazon由傳奇吉它手Carlos Santana領銜，邀請到流行歌唱圈的名人如Gloria Estefan、Ziggy Marley，R＆B歌手Miguel，饒舌名家Pitbull，爵士歌星Wayne Shorter與哥倫比亞搖滾樂手Grammy得獎人Juanes等共襄盛舉。

這套專輯唱片目前還在拉丁專輯排行榜第四名的位子上，而它曾經獲得六週排行榜冠軍。

近年曾來台演出的Carlos Santana  1947年於墨西哥Autlan de Navarro出生，後來在加州組了Santana合唱團，是拉丁搖滾的代表人物，1996年獲頒Billboard世紀歌星獎，1998年進搖滾樂名人堂，是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第93名的知名藝人。

Santana的前團員鍵琴手Gregg Rolie及吉它手Neal Schon離團後組Journey合唱團也很受歡迎，是1980年代有名的搖滾樂團。

Santana的成名曲是1970年的Black Magic Woman，當時最高得過第四名，但只能用「百聽不厭」四個字形容這首歌，而且要聽專輯版的 Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen才過癮。

Billy Joel獲蓋許文獎

 

對一個在長島長大的小孩來講還不賴，Billy Joel將是下一位獲得蓋許文獎這個知名獎項的流行歌曲獎獲獎人，美國國會圖書館本週初宣佈了這個消息。

The Gershwin Prize蓋許文獎是頒給「音樂人，如同George與Ira Gershwin一樣，終生在流行歌曲領域有所貢獻」，George與Ira Gershwin兄弟是鋼琴家及詞曲作者，曾經寫過一些流行歌曲傳頌一時。

國會圖書館新聞稿說Billy Joel是當代最受歡迎和受尊敬的藝人，也是一位高度受歡迎的講故事歌手，Billy Joel則說George Gershwin是偉大的作曲家，此獎對他的事業是很大的鼓勵，而能與另外幾位名作曲人並列，在他個人來說也是一個里程碑。

Billy Joel是第七位獲此殊榮的藝人，首位獲獎人是2007年的Paul Simon，後來陸續獲獎的是Stevie Wonder、Paul McCartney，詞曲搭檔Burt Bacharach與已故的Hal David及去年獲獎的Carole King。

Billy Joel去年五月滿65歲，他已經得到很多終生成就獎，如搖滾樂名人堂、作曲家名人堂的成員，六座Grammy獎等，去年他還與同輩藝人Carlos Santana及Herbier Hancock共同獲得甘乃迪中心頒獎。

蓋許文流行歌曲獎將於11月在華盛頓頒發。

Billy Joel出生於紐約Bronx，是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第34名的巨星，他曾獲得第三名的成名曲，1977年的Grammy年度歌曲獎Just The Way You Are是一首懷念的旋律。

Kansas主唱換人

Kansas合唱團的主唱Steve Walsh二週前宣稱他將離團而去，Steve為何離團並沒說明，但表示很難過。這位樂壇老將已經找到接班人，Ronnie Platt將接Kansas的主唱位子。

Kansas的官網宣佈Ronnie與Kansas的第一場演出將從九月12日在奧克拉荷馬城開始，他將在那場演唱會正式接下Steve Walsh的主唱位子。

Ronnie Platt之前是芝加哥ARRA合唱團的團員，那是個仿唱經典搖滾的團体，後來也擔任過奧克拉荷馬城一個叫Shooting Star合唱團的主唱。

Ronnie Platt說他一向喜歡Kansas的音樂，也仰慕Steve Walsh，他不敢說取代Steve，只希望能延續Kansas的音樂內涵，他的加入Kansas算是成就了自己的平生大夢，雖然得到這個工作，但還要努力用熱情去付出予Kansas。

Kansas的鼓手Phil Ehart說經過挑選後覺得Ronnie很適合，吉他手Rich Williams則覺得Ronnie未來可給Kansas帶來的新音樂。

Kansas合唱團是於Kansas州Topeka組成的流行搖滾樂團，1978年的第六名抒情搖滾Dust in the Wind 是他們的成名曲，Kansas團員雖曾有異動，但文中提及的主唱Steve Walsh、吉他手Rich Williams及鼓手Phil Ehart都是創始團員。

家庭合唱團the Cowsills

1960年代後期走紅的家庭合唱團The Cowsills的巡迴演唱經紀人Richard Cowsill，七月八日不幸去世（63歲），他是該團吉它手Bob Cowsill.的孿生兄弟。

The Cowsills合唱團於羅德島州的Newport組成，團員有Bill、Bob、Paul、Barry與John五兄弟和媽媽Barbara Cowsill加妹妹Susan，電視影集The Partridge Family「歡樂滿人間」，就是參考他們成功的故事編出來的。

The Cowsills合唱團的團員John 的太太是the Bangles的Vicki Peterson，他們於2003年10月結婚，而媽媽Barbara則已於1985年因肺病去世，Bill亦因同樣毛病於2006年2月去世，2005年九月一日卡翠納颶風肆虐，Barry失蹤直到12月28日才找到遺体。

The Cowsills合唱團的成名曲是1967年獲得過二週亞軍的The Rain，The Park＆Other Thing，而1969年同樣獲得過二週亞軍的Hair則是嬉皮年代著名的搖滾樂劇Hair的主題曲。

袋鼠歌星有罪

以演唱Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport成名的澳洲歌手Rolf Harris，因涉及1968 年至1986年性侵四名七、八歲及19歲未成年少女，六月30日在倫敦的法院被男女各六人的陪審團認定有罪，他將於七月四日經過醫療檢查後判刑，1977年英國女皇頒給他的帝國勳章the Commander of the Order of the British Empire medal顯然將被追繳。

Rolf Harris於1930年出生於澳洲伯斯，現年已84歲，1950年代中期前往英國發展，1970年曾於BBC主持過個人的電視節目，他因袋鼠歌Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport成了澳洲人驕傲，但遲暮之年因不名譽性侵案遭判刑，令澳洲人及歌迷們失望。
