Elton John喜獲麟兒

聖誕節那天Elton John和他的同志伴侶David Furnish當了Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John的爸媽，這個小孩是一位匿名的代理孕母所生，他們也沒宣佈Elton或David誰是這孩子的老爸。
Elton John於1970年出道，藝名來自他早先自組的合唱團Bluesology的團員Elton Dean與Long John Baldry，數年前他曾來台北開過演唱會，毛毛雨中在台北圓山足球場開唱，是我感覺不聽可惜的一場表演，原因是除了他演唱的水準完全沒打折，另外就是他要再來台灣的機會應該不多，這些年來到台北開演唱會的歌星或合唱團，有的歌星已經嗓音完全走樣，有的合唱團則大部份非原始團員，花個幾千元去聽演唱會的朋友不可不查，Elton John自2001年後雖無新作進排行榜，但在娛樂圈仍是一位大牌，在歷年暢銷歌星進排行榜上是第三名的超級巨星。

The Beatles披頭合唱團1969年的專輯唱片Abbey Road的封面，是四名團員走在班馬線上的畫面，這張專輯唱片封面圖片裡的那條班馬線附近，12月22日被英國政府劃為國家級重點保存景點，非經地方當局許可不能隨便變動，披頭合唱團的錄音室也叫Abbey Road，就位在倫敦北區的那條路上，而班馬線就在錄音室外面，從那張專輯唱片推出的單曲Come Together是1969年獲冠軍的歌，而另一首獲得第三名的Something，則是團員George Harrison擔任主唱的抒情曲，在版稅組織BMI所統計的100首全美最常播出的歌曲榜獲得第17 名。

向Roebuck "Pops" Staples致敬

12月16日美國密西西比州Winona一條大街上的「藍調之路」中放了一個紀念碑，來向the Staple Singers合唱團的已故領隊Roebuck "Pops" Staples致敬，他出生於該地附近的一個農莊， 2000年於芝加哥郊區病逝（84歲）。
the Staple Singers是一個R＆B家族合唱團，1950年代即已組團，1956年的Uncloudy Day是被收進Grammy名人堂當中的歌，這個合唱團於1960年代中期到1970年代中期在排行榜上有不少暢銷曲，使他們在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜上獲得第429名，而這個團体成績最好的一首歌是1972年的冠軍曲I’ll Take You There，這首歌在滾石雜誌500大歌曲排行榜也獲得第276名。

Larry King訪問的第一位名歌手

美國脫口秀天王Larry King本月16日退休，半世紀以來各行各業有份量的人都上過他CNN的Larry King Live節目或先前的廣播節目，Larry King早年在邁阿密的WKAT電台主持節目時，有一天被派到沙灘餐廳做連線，訪問服務生與顧客對咖啡的評價，剛好青春偶像歌手Bobby Darin正在那裡用餐，雖然Larry King只知道Bobby Darin的一首金曲，但還是硬起頭皮做訪問，他從Bobby Darin的出身問起，而Bobby Darin也能對答如流，Larry King訪問風格就此建立，也創下50年5萬次專訪的記錄。
Bobby Darin是來自紐約Bronx的早期搖滾樂歌手、作曲與鋼琴手，也有電影與電視的演出，他曾與1960年代初期受歡迎的女星Sandra Dee結過婚，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜上是第56名的知名歌手，可惜於1973年因心臟病去世（37歲），他最有名的一首歌是1959年9週冠軍曲Mack The Knife，這首歌在滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜也是第251名的歌。

英國搖滾樂手Chris Rea的父親去世

英國搖滾樂手Chris Rea的父親Camillo最近去世（88歲），他是英國一家有名的冰淇淋連鎖店的的老闆。
Chris Rea是一位1970年代後期崛起的Soft-rock 歌手、作曲與吉它手，他最有名的一首歌是1978年獲得過第12名的Fool If You Think It's Over，這首歌在抒情歌曲排行榜獲得過第3名，而Chris Rea另外有一首Working On It則是1978年在搖滾樂排行榜獲得過冠軍的歌。

Jim Morrison再獲肯定

佛羅里達州州政府12月9日舉行一場公聽會，等同事後赦免了已故Doors合唱團主唱Jim Morrison於1969年被判的一項非禮暴露罪，這個公聽會有四名成員，採不記名方式表決通過，佛州州長Charlie Crist表示當年Jim Morrison在邁阿密的一場演唱會中是否犯那個罪是有爭議的，而佛州財長則認為會有赦免這事純因Jim Morrison留有給後人的藝術遺產而來。
我第一次聽到The Doors合唱團的歌是Hello I Love You（1968＃1），後來才漸漸了解這個歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行第340名的搖滾樂團，當然也搜集了根據他們的故事改編，1991年由名導奧利佛史東(Oliver Stone)執導電影The Doors「門」，片中是由方基默演Jim Morrison，1960年代後期走紅的The Doors合唱團，因Jim Morrison於1971年底離團，並於半年後在巴黎因吸毒過量去世而於1973年解散，但喜歡搖滾樂樂的朋友都不能忘了他們。

Johnny Tillotson進佛州名人堂

1960年代的偶像歌手Johnny Tillotson，11月底宣佈進入佛羅里達州藝人名人堂，他將於明年三月佛羅里達州文創月時正式登入。
Johnny Tillotson1939年出生於佛州Jacksonville，9歲時即開始上電台節目表演，後來從主持節目到影視界演出一帆風順，1960年代也有不少唱片推出，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜上是第182名受歡迎的歌星。
Johnny Tillotson在排行榜上名次最好的一首歌是1960年第2名的Poetry In Motion。

Jermaine Jackson欠繳贍養費

Michael Jackson的哥哥Jermaine Jackson的駕照最近被加州政府暫時禁用，因為他沒有付兩個小孩的贍養費，一共已經欠了$91,000美元。

John Travolta中年得子

生於1954年2月18日的John Travolta現年已56歲，11月23日他的演員太太Kelly Preston又替他生了一個兒子Benjamin，John Travolta演電視劇Welcome Back Kotter當中的Vinnie Barbarino起家，後來因為主演電影Saturday Night Fever「週末夜的狂熱」一泡而紅，他也唱歌，最早在1976年有一首Let Her In得過第10名，但是他與Olivia Newton –John共同主演的電影Grease「火爆浪子」當中的二人合唱主題曲You’Re The One That I Want是1978年獲得過第一名的歌。
