Joni Mitchell為時尚代言

已經71 歲高齡的民歌手Joni Mitchell元月八日在加州Bel Air家中拍宣傳照，她是YSL今年春季廣告活動的代言人，之前扮演同一角色音樂界人士還有Marianne Faithfull 與 Marilyn Manson。

Joni Mitchell 1943年出生於加拿大Alberta的Ford McLeod，1966年移居紐約，是Both Sides Now與Woodstock這二首名曲的作者，擅長鋼琴與吉它彈奏，除了作曲外自己也出唱片。

Joni Mitchell於1995年獲得Billboard雜誌世紀歌星獎，1997年進搖滾樂名人堂，2002年獲得Grammy終身成就獎。

Joni Mitchell寫的Both Sides Now由Judy Collins於1968年唱紅，她自己演唱的版本沒推出單曲，但在滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜獲得第170名，而Woodstock則由Crosby，Stills，Nash＆Young與Mathews Southern Comfort二個合唱團唱紅。

Glen Campbell獲奧斯卡獎提名

罹患阿茲海默症的老牌歌星、天才吉它手Glen Campbell，元月15日以記錄片"I'll Be Me"的插曲"I'm Not Gonna Miss You"獲奧斯卡獎提名最佳原創歌曲獎，該片是講述 Glen Campbell如何抵擋阿茲海默症的故事，這首歌是他去年錄的最後一首歌，他在歌中唱到阿茲海默症如何擊潰了他，使他不得不高掛起吉它，退出他最喜愛的歌唱事業。

Glen Campbel於1936年出生於阿肯色州Delight，是一位影、視、歌三棲藝人， 1962-93年他曾有42 首歌進鄉村歌曲排行榜，他在流行歌壇亦極受歡迎，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第84名。

Glen Campbel除了主持過電視節目The Glen Campbel Goodtime Hour之外，他在約翰韋恩得獎電影True Grit「大地驚雷」中的演出也給人難忘的印象。

奧斯卡頒獎典禮將於二月22日舉行，盼望Glen Campbel能獲獎。

Rick Springfield挨告

Rick Springfield元月13日在紐約Syracuse的法庭為一樁民事官司辯護，原因是2004年他在紐約州的一場活動表演時不慎從舞台上的椅子跌下，臀部砸傷一位婦人，使她當場昏迷不醒。

Rick Springfield於1949年出生於澳洲雪梨，是一影歌双棲藝人，曾在電視影集General Hospital「中央醫院」中演Noah Drake醫生而相當受歡迎。

Rick Springfield於1972年即以Speak To The Sky獲得過第14名而踏入歌壇，1980年代更有五首暢銷曲進排行榜前十名，其中名次最好的是1981年的二週冠軍曲Jessie's Girl。

Bono單車意外傷手臂

去年底於紐約發生的自行車意外導致U2 合唱團的主唱Bono有可能永遠無法再彈吉它，U2的發言人元旦已於官網詳細說明這件意外。

Bono是四分之一世紀來最有影響力的吉它手，54歲的他表示去年十一月發生的意外，讓他數週以來行動不便一直在復健，但難得的是他也有了時間去回味一些往事。

Bono回憶這場車禍非常怪異，遠超過一般人的想像，他的手臂斷了六處，眼袋亦受傷，他不得不想到U2的巡迴演唱怎麼辦？

雖然他的手掌、手肘、肩膀、臉部都受傷，但他真正感到受傷最重的是他身為愛爾蘭名人的自尊，因為身体完全復原非常困難。

雖然還不確定他能否再彈吉它，U2的隊友們都鼓勵他不要太在乎彈吉它之事，但Bono懷念作曲與之帶來的樂趣，因那種樂趣以後只能讓The Edge、Jimmy Page或任何人去做了，Bono已裝了鈦金屬手肘，他還能唱歌與表演。

U2的新專輯Songs of Innocence已放在iTunes免費下載，這倒是一種音樂行銷新趨勢，唱片公司先讓歌迷聽過新歌，再從巡迴演唱回收成本，五月14日之前Bono要準備好票已快要賣光的這一次U2合唱團Innocence＋Experience巡迴演唱。

搖滾樂團U2係1976年於愛爾蘭都伯林組成，團員Bono、The Edge、Adam Clayton及Larry Mullen是高中同學，1987年以專輯The Joshua Tree及其中的冠軍曲With Or Without You、I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For成名，是愛爾蘭的形象大使，當代最受歡迎的搖滾樂團之一。

Peter Asher獲榮譽獎章

英國女王伊莉莎白二世十二月30日宣佈頒年度榮譽獎給Peter & Gordon的Peter Asher，除了流行歌唱界之外，男演員John Hurt，女演員Kristen Scott Thomas 與 Joan Collins與 Emily Watson，1960年代的時裝設計師Mary Quant等人都會獲頒Commander、knight、Officer 等不同層級的 the British Empire medal獎章，感謝他們對英國歌唱、演藝界…等的貢獻，這個榮譽獎章也在每年六月女王生日時頒發。

Peter Asher 與Gordon Waller 1960年代早期於倫敦組成Peter & Gordon二重唱，1964年他們以冠軍曲A World Without Love成名，另有I Go To Pieces、Lady Godiva二首排行榜前十名的暢銷曲，後來Peter Asher轉朝唱片製作及經營管理發展，曾經和Linda Ronstadt、James Taylor、10,000 Maniacs合作過。

Gordon Waller已於2009年因心臟病去世（64歲）。
