去年底於紐約發生的自行車意外導致U2 合唱團的主唱Bono有可能永遠無法再彈吉它，U2的發言人元旦已於官網詳細說明這件意外。
Bono是四分之一世紀來最有影響力的吉它手，54歲的他表示去年十一月發生的意外，讓他數週以來行動不便一直在復健，但難得的是他也有了時間去回味一些往事。
Bono回憶這場車禍非常怪異，遠超過一般人的想像，他的手臂斷了六處，眼袋亦受傷，他不得不想到U2的巡迴演唱怎麼辦？
雖然他的手掌、手肘、肩膀、臉部都受傷，但他真正感到受傷最重的是他身為愛爾蘭名人的自尊，因為身体完全復原非常困難。
雖然還不確定他能否再彈吉它，U2的隊友們都鼓勵他不要太在乎彈吉它之事，但Bono懷念作曲與之帶來的樂趣，因那種樂趣以後只能讓The Edge、Jimmy Page或任何人去做了，Bono已裝了鈦金屬手肘，他還能唱歌與表演。
U2的新專輯Songs of Innocence已放在iTunes免費下載，這倒是一種音樂行銷新趨勢，唱片公司先讓歌迷聽過新歌，再從巡迴演唱回收成本，五月14日之前Bono要準備好票已快要賣光的這一次U2合唱團Innocence＋Experience巡迴演唱。
搖滾樂團U2係1976年於愛爾蘭都伯林組成，團員Bono、The Edge、Adam Clayton及Larry Mullen是高中同學，1987年以專輯The Joshua Tree及其中的冠軍曲With Or Without You、I Still Haven't Found
What I'm Looking For成名，是愛爾蘭的形象大使，當代最受歡迎的搖滾樂團之一。
