Charlie Rich-A Very Special Love Song

電影插曲有時候會帶給流行歌曲寫作的靈感，按作曲人Norro Wilson的說法，Charlie Rich的1974年冠軍曲A Very Special Love Song就是一個例子。

Norro表示:在電影¨The Summer Of 42”｢往事如煙｣當中，有一群青少年在海濱小鎮過著愉快的暑假生活，而女主角Jennifer O'Neill和她的男友也在當地度假，青春期的小朋友對女主角有著好感，常藉機親近她，但是不幸的噩耗傳來，她的男友戰死...。

這是一個淒美的故事，那一世代的年輕人大多看過｢往事如煙｣，Norro Wilson覺得電影插曲太好聽了，與電影簡直是絕配，他決定也寫一首和 ¨The Summer Of 42”類似的曲子，他走到鋼琴前面，彈出了一點他喜歡的旋律。

Norro Wilson有時候會去作曲搭檔Bill Sherrill的辦公室，Bill常常在講電話，忙著處理一些公事，Norro則在鋼琴邊彈著他還未完成的曲子，某一天早晨，當Norro照舊在Bill的辦公室彈著他的曲子時，Bill突然問他彈的是什麼歌?Norro 說他也不知道，只是從電影得到一些靈感彈出來的，他嘗試著寫下來，他覺得曲子有一點特殊，Bill說:嗯!一首很特別的情歌---A Very Special Love Song，Bill Sherrill替這一首歌曲了名字，Norro Wilson後來完成了全曲。

Charlie Rich在Epic唱片推出的單曲A Very Special Love Song於1974年二月23日進鄉村歌曲排行榜，後來得到三週冠軍，是Charlie Rich第14首進榜歌曲。

Charlie Rich 1932年出生於阿肯色州Colt，1995年7月病逝（62歲），他是一位唱鄉村搖滾歌謠的歌手及鋼琴手，1968-1981年有45首進榜歌曲，綽號The Silver Fox｢銀狐｣，暢銷曲很多，其中名次最好的是1973年的二周冠軍曲Ther Most Beautiful Girl，Charlie Rich在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第397名。

A Very Special Love Song在熱門歌曲排行榜跨界推出，1974年也獲得過第11名。
