Kiss 團員 Gene Simmons家遭搜索

洛杉磯警方八月20日搜索了Kiss 合唱團的團員 Gene Simmons的家，報導顯示警方是去找兒童色情犯罪的證據，網路反兒童犯罪團體表示，Gene與他的家人都配合這次行動，也沒有涉案的嫌疑，但是他們相信去年Gene出去巡迴演唱時家裡出過事。

Kiss是一個以舞台化妝演出知名的重搖滾樂團，組成於紐約，Gene Simmons是該團的貝斯手，另三名團員是首席吉他手Ace Frehley、吉他手Paul Stanley、鼓手Peter Criss，團員們都兼主唱，他們也如日本漫畫迷cosplay般的裝扮自己後上台表演。

Gene Simmons裝扮為The Bat Lizard，Stanley裝Star Child，Frehley 裝Space Man，Peter Criss則是The Cat，1983經過團員的變動，Kiss 合唱團才開始不化妝上台表演。

Kiss 合唱團作品不少，在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜獲得第242名，其中成績最好的歌是1976年第七名的一首抒情搖滾Beth。

Columbia唱片公司的一位製作人Donald "Bob" Johnston，八月14日在納許維爾的一間安養院中去世（83歲），在Columbia的時候，Bob曾經參與好多經典專輯唱片的製作，如Bob Dylan的 "Blonde On Blonde" 及"Highway 61 Revisited"， Simon & Garfunkel的 "Sounds Of Silence" 及 "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme" 還有 "Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison"，

他也製作了Patti Page的單曲 "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte" (#8-1965)。

Donald "Bob" Johnston的太太Joy Byers是一位作曲人，Bob和她一起寫過 Elvis Presley's "It Hurts Me" 及 "Let Yourself Go" 還有 Timi Yuro的 "What's A Matter Baby"。

"Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme"是Simon & Garfunkel的第三張專輯唱片，1966年十月十日推出，其中的單曲"Scarborough Fair/Canticle" 中的Scarborough Fair是十九世紀的一首民歌，與讚美詩般的Canticle混和，自歌詞中表達因越戰帶來的悲情，也曾在電影 『畢業生』當中使用當配樂，這一首歌於1968年獲得過第11名，在BMI全美最常播出百名排行榜則獲得第31名，極受歌迷們喜愛。

The Silver Fox 的懷念名曲

鄉村音樂製作人Billy Sherrill八月四日在納許維爾家中去世（78歲），他帶給歌迷們一些跨鄉村與熱門排行榜的歌，如Tammy Wynette的"Stand By Your Man" (#19-1969)，那首歌是他和Tammy一起寫的，而"Behind Closed Doors" (#15-1973) 及 "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" (#1-1973) 則是Charlie Rich的暢銷曲。

Billy Sherrill於2010年進入鄉村音樂名人堂，而2008年則獲選入音樂家名人堂。

Charlie Rich 1932年出生於阿肯色州Colt，1995年七月25日因血栓塞症去世，是一位鄉村搖滾歌謠樂手，1968-1981年共有45首暢銷曲進排行榜，早年唱爵士與藍調，1950年代中期在美國空軍服役時組過爵士樂團The Velvetones，1958年在貓王發跡的Sun唱片擔任過樂手。

Charlie Rich在流行歌壇作品很多，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第397名，其中名次最好的就是1973年的冠軍曲The Most Beautiful Girl，這首歌也在全美最常播出百首歌曲榜獲得第56名。

Charlie Rich有個外號叫The Silver Fox「銀狐」。

Cilla Black去世

英籍女歌星及電視節目主持人Cilla Black，八月二日被發現死於西班牙Estepona她夏天住居，雖然死因正調查中，但她應該是死於自然原因。

Cilla Black出生於利物浦，本名Pricilla White，因為在著名的Cavern Club當衣帽間女郎而認識了很多搖滾樂界的明日之星，其中包括披頭合唱團the Beatles的團員，她因為常被邀請上台客串表演吸引了不少注意，另一家Casanova Club最後找她去正式演出，作曲人Bobby Willis還娶了她 （1999年去世 ），披頭的經紀人Brian Epstein 也簽下她，而因一家雜誌在文章中錯用了"Cilla Black"的名字，她乾脆就用來當藝名。

Cilla Black 於1963與披頭的 Parlophone唱片公司簽約，第一張單曲"Love Of The Loved"只得到第35名，但是第二首翻唱Dionne Warwicke 的"Anyone Who Had A Heart"獲得了英國排行榜冠軍，之後的"You're My World"同樣的到英國排行榜冠軍，他接著與披頭在美國的發行商Capitol唱片公司簽約，"You're My World"是她僅有的一首排行榜前75名的歌，只得到26名。

Cilla Black在英國仍然很受歡迎，有不少歌進入排行榜前十名，如"You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' (#2-1965)、"Conversations" (#3-1969) 及 "Something Tells Me" (#3-1971)。

1968年Cilla Black在BBC開了自己主持的節目"Cilla"，持續八年做了66集，1975 與 1976年也曾在"Cilla's Comedy Six" 及 "Cilla's World Of Comedy"以女演員身分演出，他也曾當過周末電視"Blind Date" 與 "Surprise Surprise"電視節目的主持人。

Cilla Black的自傳"What's It All About,"在2003年出版。

"You're My World"在1964年獲美國排行榜第26名，1977年Helen Reddy重唱獲得過第18名。

Lynn Anderson去世

鄉村歌星Lynn Anderson七月30日於鄉村音樂之都納許維爾附近因心臟病去世（67 歲）。

Lynn Anderson出生於北達科它州Grand Forks，在加州Sacramento長大，她在那裡曾得過16次馬術獎。

Lynn Anderson的母親是歌星與作曲人Liz Anderson，曾寫了Merle Haggard的暢銷曲"All My Friends Are Gonna Be Strangers"，她的父親也是一位作曲叫Casey Anderson。

透過她父母親的關係，Lynn Anderson 1966年就和 Chart唱片公司簽約，在1967年推出"If I Kiss You (Will You Go Away)" 與 "No Other Time"之後，Lynn Anderson曾加入電視節目"Lawrence Welk Show"演出，1970年跳槽Columbia唱片公司後，1971年她即以"Rose Garden"獲得熱門排行榜第三名而全國知名，雖然之後沒有歌進過熱門排行榜六十名，但是1966-1989年她卻有60首歌進入鄉村歌曲排行榜，包括得到冠軍的"You're My Man" 與 "How Can I Unlove You"，1967 及1970年她二度在鄉村音樂獎獲得最佳女歌星獎，1971年鄉村音樂協會並頒給她年度女歌星獎。

1950年代後期的搖滾樂團the Diamonds的主唱David Somerville，七月14日在加州Santa Barbara因攝護腺癌去世 （81歲），出生於加拿大安大略Guelph的David早年在CBC加拿大廣播電台當工程師時開始學音樂，當時認識一個四人合唱團並當了該團的歌唱指導，沒想到因為原主唱離去，David Somerville就趁機接手，the Diamonds也正式成立，後來他們因去紐約參加Arthur Godfrey's "Talent Scouts"才藝比賽節目得獎，獲得Mercury唱片公司合約，從此開始了成功的歌唱生涯。

剛開始的the Diamonds總是翻唱黑人的R&B知名歌曲，如"Why Do Fools Fall In Love" (#12-1956)、 "Church Bells May Ring" (#14-1956)、 "The Stroll" (#4-1958) 及 "Little Darlin'" (#2-1957)等，但後來他們也唱過原創的歌而且成績也不錯，如"Kathy-O" (#16-1958) 及 "She Say" (#18-1959)。David Somerville於1962年離開the Diamonds，他改以David Troy藝名從事歌人的歌唱生涯，接著加入the Four Preps的巡迴演唱，還與該團的Bruce Belland以二重唱的方式搭擋演出。

Dave and the Diamonds於1984年被選入加拿大音樂名人堂，亦進了演唱團体名人堂 (2004) 與Doo-Wop名人堂(2006)。

The Diamonds排行榜名次最好的歌是1957年第二名的"Little Darlin'"，這首歌原由The Gladiolas演唱，在R&B節奏與藍調排行榜獲得過50名，而the Diamonds翻唱的Little Darling反而在R&B排行榜則獲得過5名。The Gladiolas後來改名Maurice Williams and The Zodiacs，他們有一首"Stay"於1960年獲得熱門排行榜冠軍。

The Diamonds作品很多，在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜獲得274名。

懷舊的情歌"Traces"

最近有二位作曲人去世，他們在流行歌壇都留下了許多膾炙人口的好歌。

出生於丹佛的Wayne Carson七月20日於納許維爾去世（72歲），Wayne Carson於1997年被即被選入納許維爾作曲家名人堂，他寫的"The Letter"於1967年由the Box Tops推出獲得排行榜冠軍，1970年Joe Cocker重唱亦獲得第七名佳績，the Box Tops演唱另一首Wayne Carson的作品"Neon Rainbow"則獲得24名，而他另一作品Willie Nelson的名曲"Always On My Mind"於1982得過第五名。

另一位作曲人、製作人及出版商Buddy Buie，則於七月18日因心臟病病逝阿拉巴馬州Eufaula，出生於該州Dothan的他，最令人印象深刻的是替the Classics IV及the Atlanta Rhythm Section合唱團寫的那些動聽的歌，如the Classics IV的"Spooky" (#3-1968), "Traces" (#2-1969) 及 "Everyday With You Girl" (#19-1969)，和 the Atlanta Rhythm Section的"So In To You" (#7-1977) 及 "Imaginary Lover" (#7-1978)，這些暢銷曲也都由他製作與發行。

The Classics IV合唱團來自佛羅里達州Jacksonville，主唱是Dennis Yost（他已於2008年去世，享年65歲），他們的歌搭配絕妙的薩克斯風伴奏，令人一曲難忘，他們1969年第二名的"Traces"更是BMI全美最常播出歌曲榜第32名的歌，是一首百聽不厭描述懷舊心境的情歌。
