Foreigner吉它手開刀

Foreigner合唱團吉它手Mick Jones 2月23日於邁阿密海灘醫院做了心導管手術後正休養中，67歲的他將錯過該團即將開始的演唱行程。


搖滾樂團Foreigner是於紐約組成的，團員們來自英、美二地，，主唱是Lou Gramm，大部份的歌也由Mick Jones與Lou Gramm所寫，但此Mick Jones並非1980年代走紅的另一個英國龐克搖滾樂團The Clash與搖滾樂團Big Audio Dynamite的那位Mick Jones。

Foreigner是以1977年第4名的Feels Like The First Time成名，作品很多，在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜獲得第105名，名次最好的歌是1984年的二週冠軍曲I Want To Know What Love Is，這首歌並請來New Jersey Mass Choir與Jennifer Holliday唱背景合聲。

Roger Miller遺作版權歸屬之爭

美國第六巡迴上訴法院最近判決Sony/ATV音樂出版公司擁有Roger Miller 1964年推出的歌的版權，聯邦法院之前早已裁定Roger Miller 1958-1963年推出的歌屬Sony所有，這個判決對Roger Miller的遺孀Mary Miller利益帶來損失，因為下級法院正準備將Roger Miller遺囑中說他的太太繼承他的工作所得之事做不同解釋，但Roger Miller於去世之前的確簽了將音樂版權讓給Sony的合約。


Roger Miller 1936年出生於德州Ford Worth，1992年因癌症去世，是一位成功的鄉村歌星、作曲人與吉它手，1960-1986年他一共有42首鄉村歌曲排行榜暢銷曲，在流行歌曲排行榜成績最好的歌是1965年第4名的King Of The Road，這首歌在那一年替他奪得最佳鄉村歌曲等六座Grammy獎，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜他也獲得第377名。

Mike Nesmith 視力OK

前Monkees合唱團的團員Mike Nesmith 2月16日在臉書上承認他元月底眼睛因白內障開刀，並且用Johnny Nash的名曲I can see clearly now形容現在視力好得很，澄清他眼睛快瞎了的傳言。


Mike Nesmith 1942年出生於德州休士頓，在加入Monkees合唱團之前就已經是一位職業樂手，曾經幫Linda Ronstdat寫了1967年的成名曲Different Drum，他個人有一首Top 40的很好聽的抒情歌曲即1970年獲得過第21名的Joanne。

1966-1968年的The Monkees TV Show電視節目共播出58集，是那一世代年輕朋友們共同的美好回憶， The Monkees的暢銷曲不少，包括Last Train To Clarksville、I’m A Believer、Daydream Believerer三首冠軍曲，他們在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜獲得第170名。

Booker T. Jones的名曲

Booker T. Jones, B.B. King, Jeff Beck 和 Mick Jagger 將於2月21日參加白宮的一場藍調音樂演唱會的演出以慶祝美國黑人歷史月，Booker T. Jones是這場演唱會的導演與樂隊團長。


演唱會將在網路上現場轉播（whitehouse.gov/live），2月27日也會在美國公共電視PBS-TV播出錄影。

Booker T. Jones是 Booker T. ＆ The MG’S樂團的領隊，原是Stax唱片公司的錄音室中不分黑白的樂手們所組的R＆B樂隊，MG代表Memphis Group。

Booker T. Jones學生時代即與同學---後來Earth,Wind ＆Fire合唱團的Maurice White組成過樂隊，後來的 Booker T. ＆ The MG’S推出過不少排行榜名次不錯的演奏曲，1971年解散。

Booker T. Jones曾獲得印地安納大學音樂學位，太太Priscilla是Rita Coolidge的妹妹，他也幫Rita Coolidge、Bill Withers、Willie Nelson製作過唱片。

Booker T. ＆ The MG’S在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第447名，他們名次最好的唱片是1962年第3名的Green Onions，這首演奏曲在滾石雜誌500大 歌曲榜獲得第131名。

老牌藝人亦獲Grammy獎殊榮

第54屆Grammy葛萊美獎2月12日於洛杉磯舉行頒槳典禮，會中有一些老牌藝人亦獲得殊榮，他們包括Tony Bennett , Booker T. Jones, Bruce Springsteem, Paul McCartney 及Levon Helm，另外Bruce Springsteem , Paul McCartney, Glen Campbell 與 the Beach Boys並於會中演出。


現年86歲的Tony Bennett以DUETS II獲得傳統專輯唱片獎，2006年為慶祝Tony 80歲生日推出的DUETS曾獲三座葛萊美獎，並創他一生最多的專輯唱片暢銷記錄。

Tony Bennett邀請Lady Gaga 、 Aretha Franklin及Amy Winehouse, Michael Buble, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Queen Latifah, Carrie Underwood 和另外一些歌星加入這張專輯的錄製，Lady Gaga與Tony Bennett合唱的是Richard Rodgers的歌"The Lady Is A Tramp"，而Aretha Franklin與Tony Bennett則合唱了Alan and Marilyn Bergman的經典之作"How Do You Keep The Music Playing"。

Tony Bennett 1926年出生於紐約Queens，是在歌壇奮鬥60年的頂尖爵士歌手， 2001年獲頒葛萊美終生成就獎，2006年獲Billboard世紀歌星獎，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜則獲得第197名，他最有名的歌是1962年獲得過流行歌曲排行榜第19名的I Left My Heart In San Francisco。

Whitney Houston 猝逝

美國指標性歌星Whitney Houston  2月11日在好萊塢比佛利山去世了，48歲的她近年來一直和毒品、酗酒及前夫Bobby Brown等話題連結在一起。


Houston死前剛參加了製作人Clive Davis 的Grammy獎酒會，雖然傳來Whitney Houston的不幸消息，酒會仍持續進行，參加酒會的歌星包括Alicia Keyes, Gladys Knight, Herbie Hancock及企業家Richard Branson。

Whitney Houston的母親Cissy Houston與阿姨 Dionne Warwick都說之前曾和她聊天，Warwick晚宴上還與Whitney同桌，都沒感到什麼異狀。

去年五月時Whitney Houston曾主動回毒品勒戒所再次進行她長期的療程。

Whitney Houston這位七次Grammy獎的得主，於2009年復出歌壇，但傳言說她又開始吸毒，當時她曾告訴著名的談話節目主持人Oprah Winfrey，1992至2006年她與R&B 歌手 Bobby Brown在一起的時候的確吸過毒，他們有一個女兒叫Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown。

2009年Whitney Houston在睽違歌壇七年後推出"I Look to You"專輯，賣了304,000 套，讓她重回暢銷榜，還創她生涯專輯唱片首週記錄。

2010年Whitney Houston開始全球的"Nothing but Love"巡迴演唱，但是在亞洲、澳洲及歐洲的演出因金嗓子不再，歌迷們非常失望到有人中途退場。

在1990年代Whitney Houston的全盛時期，她是全球最暢銷歌星，暢銷曲如"I Wanna Dance With Somebody" 、"How Will I Know" 與 "I Will Always Love You" 等讓她的演唱會入場券經常銷售一空。

藝人言行須謹慎

2月5日舉行的NFL美式足球超級盃停止在場中播放Gary Glitter的 Rock & Roll Part II，這首歌常在各種運動比賽中播放用來激勵觀眾，新英格蘭愛國者隊傳統使用這首歌當作達陣時的配樂效果，但是因為Gary Glitter為了性侵兒童被判天價賠償，大家覺得不宜再挺Gary Glitter，因此從此不用那首歌了。


Gary Glitter 1944年出生於英國，是一位Glam-Rock「華麗搖滾」歌手，2006年他在越南因性侵兒童案被判刑入監三年，回英後再被罰巨款，演藝之路恐將因而終止，對比台灣藝人醉酒重傷計程車司機案，公眾人物言行不得不慎。

Gary Glitter的"Rock & Roll Part II"在1972年曾獲得第7名，是一首演奏曲，"Rock & Roll Part I"則帶有歌詞，Gary Glitter在演唱會中會把二首歌合而為一表演，但本為全美体育活動「國歌」的此曲因他的行為不檢，此後將美景不再了。

經典黑人音樂節目Soul Train

播出長達35年的電視節目「靈魂列車」"Soul Train”的開創者之一並且也當過主持人的Don Cornelius，2月1日在加州Sherman Oaks家中持槍自殺身亡（75歲），"Soul Train”這個電視節目1970年在芝加哥地方電視台WCIU開播，製作費還是Don自己出的，剛開始的時候他無薪水領，直到後來找到廣告商贊助這個黑人娛樂音樂節目後情況才改觀，1971年"Soul Train”開始在亞特蘭大、克里夫蘭、底特律、休士頓和洛杉磯等七個城市連線播出。


Don Cornelius在1993年停止主持節目，並於播出1117集後在2006年停播"Soul Train”， Don的節目告別語頗為經典：「我是Don Cornelius…我祝觀眾們有愛，和平和靈魂歌曲」。

"Soul Train”的主題歌TSOP（The Sound Of Phiiladellphia）曾經用MFSB與Three Degrees之名在1974年推出，獲得過二週排行榜冠軍，MFSB是此曲的作曲 Kenneth Gamble與 Leon Huff所有的費城國際唱片公司的錄音室樂團，MFSB即Mother,Father,Sister,Brother，而Three Degrees則屬該公司的一個R＆B女聲三重唱，除了TSOP（The Sound Of Phiiladellphia）之外，她們1974年另一首第2名的When Will I See You Again在台灣曾經風靡一時。

The Troggs主唱老病

The Troggs 合唱團的主唱歌手Reg Presley去年12月二度中風，元月24日又宣告已進行肺癌化療，70歲的他表示他準備跟The Troggs說再見並退休了。


The Troggs是來自英國Andover的搖滾樂團，除了主唱Reg Presley之外，另三名團員分別是吉它手Chris Britton，貝斯手Pete Staples與鼓手Ronnie Bullis，Ronnie已於1992年去世（51歲）。

The Troggs最有名的歌是1966年二週冠軍曲Wild Thing，另一首Top 10的歌是1968年第7名的Love Is All Around。
