R＆B歌手Bobby Womack

R＆B歌手、作曲人和吉它手Bobby Womack 3月24日因肺炎住院，他的貝斯手Bootsy Collins在臉書上說Bobby Womack檢查發現罹患結腸癌，三月初還因呼吸困難和前列腺癌進醫院，雖然他出院了，但後續療程已排好，Bobby 18年來第一張專輯預定六月份發行。


Bobby Womack 1944年出生於俄亥俄州Cleveland，1960年代初期自家兄弟組團叫the Womack Brothers，後來唱片公司改名The Valentinos 和The Lovers，他曾幫Sam Cooke、Wilson Pickett、The Box Tops、Joe Tex、Areatha Franklin及Janis Joplin當過吉它手，可見吉它彈奏功力不凡，Bobby Womack推出過不少單曲，在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1974年第10名的Looking For A Love，這首歌在R＆B排行榜獲得三週冠軍。

Bobby Womack於 2009年獲選入搖滾樂名人堂。

Jerry Lee Lewis第七次結婚

按the National Enquirer「國家詢問者」八卦報的報導，Jerry Lee Lewis將和他表哥Rusty的前妻結婚，他曾和Rusty的妹妹結過婚，這將是76歲的Jerry Lee Lewis 第七次結婚。


Jerry Lee Lewis 1935年出生於路易斯安那州的Ferriday，9歲就開始玩鋼琴，15歲踏入歌唱界，1958年因為和貝斯手的13歲女兒Myra Gale Brown結婚，讓他的歌唱事業完蛋，直到1968他才從鄉村歌唱界東山再起，自1957-1989年共有65首鄉村歌曲排行榜暢銷曲。Jerry Lee Lewis外號The Killer「殺手」，這二十年來始終重病纏身，鄉村歌星Mickey Gilley與電視佈道家Jimmy Swaggart都是他表親，1989年他的傳奇故事曾拍成電影Great Balls Of Fire「大火球」，由Dennis Quaid丹尼斯奎德主演。

Jerry Lee Lewis作品很多，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第408名，其中名次最好的歌即是1957年4週第2名的Great Balls Of Fire，這首歌被收進Grammy與搖滾樂名人堂，也是滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜第96名的名曲。

ZZ Top 的名曲

來自德州休士頓的搖滾三重唱ZZ Top的團員Billy Gibbons， 3月16日在老家休士頓的一間餐廳推出了他的BBQ烤肉醬與調味料。


Billy Gibbons原先是迷幻搖滾樂團Moving Sidewalks的首席吉它手，Dusty Hill與Frank Beard則是American Blues的團員，Gibbons與Hill令人印象深刻的是都留著長鬍鬚。

ZZ Top 是一個成功的搖滾樂團，知名作品很多，在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜獲得第400名，2004年即被選入搖滾樂名人堂，他們在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1984年第8名的歌Legs，與1985年同樣獲得第8名的歌Sleeping Bag，但Legs被選入搖滾樂名人堂。

Cilla Black新節目回憶1960年代

1960年代曾於英國走紅的女歌星Cilla Black， 3月19日將有一個由她主持的電視節目「Cilla的不搖擺60年代」於英國UKTV的昨日頻道首播，這部記錄片揭露1960年代英國的人穿著、買什麼唱片及週末做什麼。


Cilla Black 1943年出生於英國利物浦，本名Priscilla White，她原來在The Beatles披頭合唱團發跡的利物浦Cavern Club當收票員，後來被披頭合唱團的經紀人Brian Epstein發掘而踏進歌壇，她的名曲是1964年第26名的You’re My World，這首歌於1977年由Helen Reddy重唱獲得18名。

The Doobie Brothers的成名曲

The Doobie Brothers合唱團的打擊樂器手Michael Hossack最近因癌症在懷俄明州Dubois家中去世（65歲），他的老隊友Tom Johnston說Michael是他和The Doobie Brothers音樂生涯的一部分，他是一位傑出的音樂人。


The Doobie Brothers是1970年代初期於加州聖荷西組成的Pop-rock合唱團，原先主唱是Patrick Simmons與Tom Johnston，1975年Michael McDonald加入之後實力大增，但也擠走了原先該團的主要作曲人Tom Johnston，因為直到1983年該團解散，他們後來的暢銷曲都是由Michael McDonald所寫， The Doobie Brothers在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜獲得第136名，成名曲是1972年第11名的Listen To The Music，這首歌在BMI全美最常播出100首歌曲榜獲得72名，很好聽的Soft-rock。

Tammy Wynette死後改名

1998年因敗血症去世的The First Lady Of Country Music「鄉村音樂第一夫人」Tammy Wynette，下葬在鄉村音樂之都Nashville附近一處叫Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum的墓園，但最近有消息傳來她的墓碑上的名字將改為Virginia W. Richardson，Wynette的本名叫Virginia Wynette Pugh，她去世時先生名叫George Richey，但本名是Richardson，一位發言人表示，這個更名之事來自男方家族的請求。


Tammy Wynette是一位於鄉村歌壇很有成就的女歌星，因演唱傑克尼柯遜1970年的成名電影Five Easy Pieces「浪蕩子」的插曲D-I-V-O-R-C-E及Stand By Your Man，在流行歌壇也受到歡迎，她從1967-1976年有20首鄉村歌曲排行榜獲得冠軍的歌，其中包含1968年鄉村榜個人第二首冠軍曲，後來也收進她精選專輯很動聽的Take Me To Your World。

紐約州地方上訴法院3月1日判決無線電話公司有權用The Band的歌 "The Weight,"當電視廣告，The Band的團員Levon Helm提告，但法庭裁決Capitol唱片公司和他的合約中允許這種用法。


搖滾樂團The Band於紐約Woostock組成，主唱及吉他手Robbie Robertson、主唱與鼓手Levon Helm、貝斯手Rick Danco，Richard Manuel與Garth Hadson則是鍵琴手，團員大多來自加拿大，僅Levon Helm是來自Arkansas美國人，他們是Bob Dylan錄專輯唱片與旅行演唱的伴唱樂團，1976年的感恩節，大導演Martin Scorcese將Ronnie Hawkins的Hawks樂團的告別演唱會拍成記錄片The Last Waltz，是搖滾樂界歷史留名的一件盛事（當天團中也包括The Band所有成員，Ronnie Hawkins是來自Arkansas的白人搖滾歌謠樂手及作曲，1958年搬家到加拿大，The Band即Ronnie Hawkins後來組成的樂團，The Hawks則早在1952 年就已組成）。

The Band 於1994年被選入搖滾樂名人堂，2008年則獲頒Grammy終身成就獎，他們最有名的歌即滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜第41名的這首歌"The Weight"（1968年夏最高僅獲63名），唯一進排行榜Top 40的歌是1969年第25名的Up On Cripple Creek。

Monkees合唱團主唱去世

The Monkees合唱團的主唱歌手Davy Jones二月29日因心臟病發死於他位於佛羅里達州Stuart的住家（66.歲），Davy 1945年出生於英國曼徹斯特，11 歲時就因參加肥皂劇"Coronation Street."的演出而踏入演藝圈，他曾當過賽馬場播報員，但因隨英國版的舞台劇"Oliver!"「孤雛淚」到百老匯公演而開始了他的音樂人生，當年Davy Jones與「孤雛淚」其他演員一同到CBS 電視網"Ed Sullivan Show"「蘇利文劇場」上節目的那天晚上，正巧The Beatles節目也在CBS首演，Davy沾披頭四的光也有報導上報，讓他很羨慕，後來他與一家叫Colpix的唱片公司簽約，改名David Jones的他曾小有成就。


1965年 CBS 電視在洛杉磯為一個電視節目從400個應徵者挑了Davy Jones、Michael Nesmith、Peter Tork及Micky Dolens組了The Monkees合唱團，這個The Monkees TV show後來共播出58集，而搭配這個受歡迎的節目推出的四張專輯唱片都獲得排行榜冠軍，且持續37週之久，他們共有9首Top40的暢銷曲，包括 Davy主唱的 "Daydream Believer" (#1-1967), "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You" (#2-1967) 及"Valleri" (#3-1968)，其它還有 "Last Train To Clarksville" (#1-1966), "I'm A Believer" (#1-1966) 與"Pleasant Valley Sunday" (#3-1967).The Monkees是1967年最受歡迎的合唱團。

1970年The Monkees解散之後，Davy 個人1971年有一首 "Rainy Jane" 獲得過52名，

Davy Jones與Micky Dolens曾一同參與1978年Harry Nilson的電視動畫影片"The Point"在倫敦的舞台演出，（Nilson1971年以抒情曲Without You獲Grammy演唱獎，1994年亦因心臟病發去世），而他們二人與Peter Tork為The Monkees二十週年於1986年所辦的公演所推出的"That Was Then, This Is Now."還使The Monkees重回排行榜Top 20，之後除個人的音樂與舞台演出之外，Davy也參加1996與去年的復出。
