Downtown作曲進名人堂

作曲家名人堂宣布2013年入選作曲人發表會將於6月13日於紐約舉行，本屆獲選作曲人有1、Downtown的作者Tony Hatch， 此由Petula Clark在1964年唱紅，得到過排行榜冠軍。2、搖滾樂團Aerosmith 的Steven Tyler 與Joe Perry ，他們寫的Walk This Way在1976年曾獲得過第10名。3、前Eagle合唱團的團員 J.D. Souther ，他寫的Best Of My Love在1974年曾獲得過排行榜冠軍。4、Foreigner 合唱團的團員Mick Jones 與 Lou Gramm ，他們的I Want To Know What Love Is是1984年的二週冠軍曲。5、女歌星與作曲Holly Knight，她 的Love Is A Battlefield亦獲得肯定。

Steven Tyler 與Joe Perry將先於4月7日獲ASCAP這個美國作曲與出版人組織頒發一個獎項。

英國女歌星與演員Petula Clark，除了在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第185名之外，曾經在20多部電影中出現過，成名曲Downtown是她最有名的歌，也被收進搖滾樂名人堂。

披頭前主唱Tony Sheridan去世

早年在德國漢堡擔任過the Beatles披頭合唱團主唱的Tony Sheridan，二月16日於英國去世（72歲 ） ，Tony Sheridan 1940年出生於英國Norwich，起初他在倫敦幫知名歌手如Conway Twitty 與Gene Vincent等人當錄音室吉他手，1960年他前去德國漢堡與來自利物浦的the Beatles合唱團合作，他們以Tony Sheridan & the Beat Brothers之名替著名的樂團指揮與製作人Bert Kaempfert （Bert Kaempfert And His Orchestra有一首1960年三週冠軍演奏曲Wonderland By Night） 錄了My Bonnie，1961年他們回利物浦工作的時候讓後來the Beatles經紀人Brian Epstein開始注意這個後來寫下搖滾樂歷史的合唱團。

Tony Sheridan & the Beat Brothers當年錄的歌在the Beatles成名之後於美國重新發行，其中My Bonnie於1964年得過第26名，同年Why則得到第88名，而由John Lenon與Paul Mccartney主唱的Ain't She Sweet則得到第19名。

Tony Sheridan一直留在在漢堡從事音樂工作，但花比較多的時間在爵士與藍調音樂，擔任過the Beatles鼓手的Pete Best在推特上留言"Great guy and great memories. I will miss you Tony. RIP."。

搖滾樂團The Dave Clark Five的貝斯手去世

搖滾樂團The Dave Clark Five的貝斯手Rick Huxley二月11日在英格蘭故鄉Dartford去世（72歲） ，雖然他肺氣腫一段時間，但一直對外宣稱健康狀況良好。

Rick Huxley起初是以吉它手的身分加入1957年在英國諾丁翰組成的the Dave Clark Five，後來這個團體在美國一共有27首排行榜暢銷曲包括："Over And Over" (#1-1965), "Because" (#3-1964), "Bits And Pieces" (#4-1964) and "Catch Us If You Can" (#4-1965)等歌，這個五人合唱團在著名的美國電視節目「蘇利文劇場 」一共應邀演出18次，1965年還拍了他們自己的電影Having A Wild Weekend「週末狂歡」 ，1970年在他們推出最後一首美國排行榜暢銷曲後二年，the Dave Clark Five宣告解散，但是領隊Dave Clark與主唱Mike Smith 以Dave Clark＆Friends之名繼續唱到1973年（雖然團名用Dave Clark，但他只是鼓手）， 2008年the Dave Clark Five被選入搖滾樂名人堂。

Dave Clark說Rick Huxley是一位低調的紳士，而且極有音樂天份，也是他的好朋友，Rick去世後the Dave Clark Five只剩Dave Clark與吉他手Lenny Davidson仍在世。

The Dave Clark Five在歌壇成績不錯，一共有8首Top10暢銷曲，其中名次最好的歌是1965年的冠軍曲Over and Over，在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜，the Dave Clark Five獲得第135名。

The Andrews Sisters歌聲永流傳

搖擺樂時代著名的the Andrews Sisters女聲三重唱團員Patty Andrews，元月30於加州Northridge故鄉去世（94歲） ，她是the  Andrews Sisters最後一位去世的團員，Patty與二位姐姐LaVerne 及Maxine組成的the Andrews Sisters，自1940-1951年一共有53首暢銷曲進排行榜，他們另外還有15首與Bing Crosby合唱的暢銷曲，Patty於1955年還有一首個人的暢銷曲Suddenly There's A Valley於1955年獲得過地69名。

The Andrews Sisters是二十世紀前半最受歡迎的混聲合唱團體，1998年被選入演唱團體名人堂，他們1941年獲得第6名的暢銷曲Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy被認為是節奏與藍調歌曲的一個範例，影歌雙棲的女星Bette Midler 1973年曾重新翻唱此曲，獲得過第8名。

The Troggs合唱團的主唱去世

The Troggs合唱團的主唱Reg Presley 2月3日因肺癌去世（71歲 ），其實他一年前退休就是為抗癌奮鬥。

Reg Presley 1941年出生於英格蘭翰普夏的Andover，他與吉他手Chris Britton, 貝斯手Pete Staples 及鼓手 Ronnie Bullis 於 1964年組成the Troggs合唱團，一年後他們與Kinks 的經紀人 Larry Page簽約，在CBS唱片出了第一張專輯但沒能成名，他們於是轉投Fontana唱片公司旗下，名影星強沃特（安潔莉納裘莉的父親） 的弟弟Chip Taylor寫的一首歌Wild Thing讓the Troggs一夜成名，這首歌在英國獲得第2名，在美國則得到冠軍，Wild Thing單曲小唱片反面的歌With A Girl Like You在美國排行榜上也得到第29名。

1968年他門的"Love Is All Around獲得第7名，那也是他們後來在美國唯一的一首排行榜前40名的歌（但他們在英國有八首排行榜前40名的歌） 。

雖然Reg Presley去世，鼓手 Ronnie Bullis早在1992年也已去世，但創團吉他手Chris Britton仍以the Troggs合唱團之名繼續巡迴演唱。
