演唱 More Than I Can Say這一首在全美排行榜只得到61名的歌，但卻在台灣大受歡迎的偶像歌手Bobby Vee，十月24日去世了(73歲)。

Bobby Vee本名Robert Velline，1943年出生於北達州Fargo，早年曾經組過一個叫The Shadows的合唱團(與英國的The Shadows樂團同名)，當搖滾樂名人Buddy Holly因飛機失事而逝去，Bobby Vee當主唱的The Shadows填補了原先安排的Buddy Holly在Fargo的演唱會行程，因而獲得歌迷們的注意。

1959年Bobby Vee and The Shadows錄了第一張唱片Suzie Baby，在排行榜上獲得第77名，從明黎蘇答地區發行的Soma唱片公司取得授權做全美發行的Liberty唱片公司並不因成績不佳而放棄Bobby Vee，反而繼續和他合作，受到這一個激勵，果然1960年推出的Devil Or Angel獲得了第六名，Bobby Vee接著又陸續推出不少受歡迎的歌如Rubber Ball(#6-1961)﹑ Carole King 的作品Take Good Care Of My Baby(#1-1961)﹑Run To Him(#2-1961) 及The Night Has A Thousand Eyes(#3-1963)等。

在英國搖滾樂隨著The Beatles大舉入侵美國的1960年代中期，Bobby Vee沉寂了一段時間，在1967年才以Come Back When You Grow Up(#3)重新出現於排行榜，經過12年的時間，他一共有38首歌進過排行榜，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第118名。

Bobby Vee也演過好些電影，談到1960年代狂受青少年喜愛的Teenage Idol｢青春偶像藝人｣，Bobby Vee是其中要角。

More Than I Can Say這一首歌雖然在美國排行榜名次不高，但在台灣卻特別受歡迎，還改編為國語歌曲｢愛你在心口難開｣，四年級的老歌迷應該不會忘了吧，此外，英國歌星Leo Sayer於1980年曾經重新翻唱推出這一首歌，獲得過第二名。

Bob Dylan獲諾貝爾文學獎

Bob Dylan於十月13日獲得諾貝爾文學獎，他是1993年以來第一位獲得此獎的美國人，頒獎單位表示:Bob Dylan創造了一種富有詩意的美國流行歌曲演唱傳統...，Dylan是一位指標型的歌者，他在流行音樂界的影響是相當深遠的，Dylan將獲得九十萬美元的獎金。

Bob Dylan本名Robert Zimmerman，1941年五月24日出生於美國明尼蘇達州Duluth，是傳奇歌手﹑作曲人﹑吉他手與口琴吹奏者，他創造了民謠搖滾的演唱方式，藝名取自詩人Dylan Thomas。

1960年Bob Dylan前去紐約，他在格林威治村的民歌俱樂部演唱民歌，次年十月和Columbia唱片公司簽約，自此開始他非凡的歌唱生涯，其中只有1966年因摩托車車禍曾短暫休息。

Bob Dylan作品極多，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第219名，最近報章雜誌常提及他的作品Blowin’ In The Wind，其實Dylan本人並沒有推出單曲小唱片，反而是民歌三重唱Peter ，Paul and Mary的暢銷曲，但Dylan的Like A Rolling Stone卻是滾石雜誌五百首最受歡迎歌曲排行榜的冠軍歌曲，1965年曾經獲得二周排行榜第二名。

Bob Dylan的兒子Jakob是The Wallflowers合唱團的主唱。

John Sebastian的清新小品

最早是the Critters合唱團的團員，後來參加過the Four Seasons合唱團Don Ciccone十月八日去世(71歲)。

Don Ciccone出生於紐澤西州的Plainfield，1964年他加入一個當地合唱團the Vibratones，團員都是他個人演唱時代的伴唱樂手，後來他們改名為the Critters。

The Critters起初錄了一首John Sebastian的作品"Younger Girl" 獲得第42名，接著的 "Mr. Dieingly Sad" 則於1966年獲得第17名，是他們名次最好的歌，the Critters 其他進榜歌曲還有"Bad Misunderstanding" (#55-1966) 與 "Don't Let The Rain Fall Down On Me" (#39-1967)。

The Critters於1967年解散，Don也去當兵，二年後他從空軍退伍後加入了the Four Seasons合唱團，他擔任吉他手，也在"Who Loves You" (#3-1975) 及"December,1963" (#1-1976)二首暢銷曲中演唱，直到 1981年離開該團。

Don Ciccone後來寫了一些廣告歌，還擔任過Tommy James巡迴演唱的音樂指導，也重組過the Critters合唱團。

John Sebastian的"Younger Girl"是一首很好聽的歌，除了the Critters之外，曾經由Lovin’ Spoonful錄過，但沒有推出小唱片，The Hondells的版本只得到第52名。

暢銷曲的推手Rod Temperton

英國作曲人Rod Temperton十月五日因癌症去世(69歲)，Rod Temperton在德國組團的多種族混和的R&B舞曲合唱團Heatwave當鍵琴手時，曾寫了"Boogie Nights" 及"Always And Forever"二首暢銷曲，分別於1977與1978年獲得熱門排行榜第二名與第18名。

Rod Temperton於1978年離開Heatwave合唱團後成了多產作曲人，他曾替Michael Jackson寫了幾首很受歡迎的暢銷曲，包括"Thriller"，"Off The Wall"及"Rock With You"，另外George Bemson的"Give Me The Night"，Michael McDonald的 "Sweet Freedom" 及Patti Austin and James Ingram唱紅的"Baby Come To Me"都是Rod Temperton的傑作。

在迪斯可流行後的1970年代後期及1980年代前期，Rod Temperton寫的這些名曲相信歌迷們都不曾錯過。
