英國作曲人Rod Temperton十月五日因癌症去世(69歲)，Rod Temperton在德國組團的多種族混和的R&B舞曲合唱團Heatwave當鍵琴手時，曾寫了"Boogie Nights" 及"Always And
Forever"二首暢銷曲，分別於1977與1978年獲得熱門排行榜第二名與第18名。
Rod
Temperton於1978年離開Heatwave合唱團後成了多產作曲人，他曾替Michael Jackson寫了幾首很受歡迎的暢銷曲，包括"Thriller"，"Off The Wall"及"Rock With
You"，另外George Bemson的"Give
Me The Night"，Michael McDonald的 "Sweet Freedom" 及Patti Austin and
James Ingram唱紅的"Baby Come To Me"都是Rod Temperton的傑作。
