Kenny Rogers-Lady

  以1978 暢銷曲"The Gambler"開始受到歌迷注目的 Kenny Rogers去世了。

  本名Kenneth Ray Rogers的Kenny Rogers 1938年出生於美國德州休士頓，他是少數從鄉村歌唱界竄出並走紅到全世界的藝人，他並也是演員、攝影師、企業家。

  1966年Kenny加入民謠合唱團The New Christy Minstrels，他認識了同團隊友Kim Carnes，次年他和幾位團員離團另組Kenny Rogers and The First Edition合唱團，該團有1968 #5 "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)" 及1967年#6的"Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town"二首top 10暢銷曲。

  1976年Kenny Rogers and The First Edition宣告解散，Kenny開始他個人的歌唱生涯，在第一張單曲"Love Lifted Me"#97之後，他的"Lucille"獲得鄉村歌曲排行榜第2名、英國排行榜冠軍，在Billboard Hot 100排行榜則獲得第5名，在Grammy獎和鄉村音樂獎都獲得佳績，使他一曲成名。

  故事歌曲"The Gambler" 及"Coward of the County”分別於1978 與 1979年獲得鄉村歌曲排行榜冠軍，也成了流行歌曲榜Top 10暢銷曲，"The Gambler"也成了Kenny Rogers的招牌歌。1980 及 1981年Kenny還參加電視劇集演出。1982年主演電影Six Pack「福星鬧翻天」，其中的插曲"Love Will Turn You Around"獲得鄉村歌曲排行榜冠軍。

  Kenny第一首流行歌曲榜冠軍是1980年Lionel Richie寫的"Lady"，接著1983年和 Dolly Parton合唱的冠軍曲"Islands in the Stream"則是 Bee Gees的作品並擔任製作人。

  Kenny Rogers和女歌星 Dolly Parton、Dottie West、Kim Carnes、Sheena Easton都合作過，其中和Kim Carnes合唱的"Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer"#4成績最好。

  2013年Kenny Rogers進入鄉村歌曲名人堂，他結過五次婚，有五個子女，在Billboard Hot 100排行榜上名次最好的歌是1980年的六週冠軍曲"Lady"。
