Roll'這一首後來得到過八週冠軍的歌，它的共同作曲人Alan Merrill，3月29日不幸於紐約曼哈頓因新冠肺炎去世，Merrill的女兒告訴記者:我們沒能全家一起追悼他，他的妻子Joanna之前則在臉書訴說她先生死前的慘狀。
她說：在Merrill頻臨死亡時，虛弱的在急診室經過14小時的等待後確診，然後醫院找人將他送樓上ICU重症病房，醫生曾說Merrill 進 ICU後會得到需要的照顧，他不會痛…，但她通過三道關卡回家途中，醫生來電告知Alan Merrill已因心肺衰竭去世，他們已盡力救治。她表示：寫這些東西不是要博取同情，只是要大家知道政府對新冠肺炎缺乏準備。
Alan Merrill 1951年在紐約Bronx出生，是一位歌手、吉他手、作曲人及演員，1970年早期在日本曾走紅過，他和Jake Hooker合寫的'I Love Rock 'N' Roll'曾於1975年由 the Arrows在英國推出，當時Merrill是該團的主唱吉他手，the Arrows 1974在英國組成，有幾首暢銷曲，1977解散。

Love Rock 'n' Roll"於1982年由搖滾樂女主唱Jone Jett擔任主唱的Jone Jett&The Blackhearts翻唱，推出後獲得八週排行榜冠軍，Jone Jett 1958年出生於賓州Wynnewood，1975-1978年參加的The Runaways合唱團是女子搖滾樂團的的濫觴。
