  前 UFO 合唱團貝斯手 Pete Way去世

  重搖滾樂團UFO和他們的創團團員之一的貝斯手Pete Way說再見了。

  Pete Way於八月14日星期五過世(69歲)。他的Facebook透露: "Pete Way因為二個月前發生致命意外，經持續二個月的搶救無效而喪生 "，臨終前他的太太Jenny在旁邊。

  Pete Way成立UFO合唱團於1968年，主唱 Phil Mogg，吉它手 Mick Bolton，鼓手Andy Parker，是一個來自英國的重搖滾樂團Hard-Rock Band。

  在2019年的一次訪問中，Way假裝還不會漸漸變老，他說 : "但你回憶以往，回到那時節，又不能不去算已經許多年了，我不知道，我有非常棒的機會和一些好夥伴們玩音樂"。

  Hard-Rock Band在1970年代曾經紅過 ，如the Who、Boston、 Led Zeppelin、Deep Purple、Aerosmith、 Kiss、Queen、 AC/DC 與 Van Halen都獲得商業上的成就，而2000年後當年的巨星仍在流行音樂界存活的已經不多，但是這種音樂仍有他死忠的歌迷。

  UFO在Billboard Hot 100 排行榜只有一首歌出現過，那是1977年推出，僅獲得106名的Too Hot To Handle。

Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer-No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)

   The Vote Proud「驕傲地去投票」是個政治團體，主要鼓勵the LGBTQ+ community (LGBTQ  Lesbian  、 Gay 、 Bisexual 、 Transgender 、Queer or Questioning) 的選民去做投票登記，他們推出的新廣告用了Barbra Streisand與Donna Summer的合唱歌曲。

   "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" 是 1979年的暢銷曲，共同作曲人是Vote Proud組織發起人之一的Bruce Roberts，他和 Lisa Halliday 與 Jake Resnicow一起創設了Vote Proud。

   "我多年前寫了Enough is Enough這首歌，Barbra Streisand與Donna Summer合唱的這首歌賣得很好，獲得全球各地的排行榜冠軍"，Roberts 補充:"多年之後這首歌已經變成今日美國改變與平等的頌歌"。

   這個MV聚焦於川普政府帶來光明的事實，因為少之又少的同性戀團體the queer community的會員已經登記，這個廣告影帶鼓勵他們去登記以便於2020年11月的總統大選得以投票。

   Barbra Streisand與Donna Summer合唱的這首  "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)"於1979年10月20日推出，11月24日起獲得2周排行榜冠軍。

 Barbra Streisand出生於紐約Brooklyn區，影歌雙棲，1992年獲得Grammy傳奇歌星獎，1995年再獲終生成就獎，是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第50名的巨星。

  Donna Summer出生於Boston，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第55名，暱稱「迪斯可歌后」the Queen Of Disco，可惜已於2012年因肺癌去世(63歲)。

Boyz II Men-End Of The Road

   上週介紹Patty Smyth與Eagles團員Don Henley合唱的情歌Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough是1992年連續獲得6週第2名的一首暢銷曲，這麼一首動聽的歌為什麼沒能登上冠軍寶座呢 ? 因為前面有一首更受歡迎的歌擋道，那就是Boyz II Men的End Of The Road 。

  1992年9月26日當Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough進Billboard Hot 100 排行榜第7周時獲得第2名(9/26-10/31)，而Boyz II Men的 End Of The Road當周已經連續獲得7周排行榜冠軍了，因為End Of The Road後來一共獲得13周排行榜冠軍(8/15-11/7)，所以 Patty Smyth無緣在Billboard Hot 100 榜得到一次冠軍，不過在另一本Radio & Records雜誌的排行榜上Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough倒是得到3周冠軍，也算是個安慰獎吧。

        Boyz II Men是一個來自賓州費城的R&B合唱團，New Edition的Michael Bivins發掘他們入門，1992年曾應邀在迷你電視劇集The Jacksons : An American Dream演出，"End of the Road"在排行榜上創13周冠軍紀錄後，他們接著推出的"I'll Make Love to You" 及 "One Sweet Day" ( 與Mariah Carey合唱 )又獲得14周及16周冠軍，因為一再於Billboard Hot 100 排行榜留下歷史紀錄，Boyz II Men是1992與1994年的冠軍合唱團，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第69名。

  "End of the Road"也獲得當年Grammy最佳R&B歌曲及最佳合唱團獎。

Patty Smyth-Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough

 

  Patty Smyth回憶她曾經婉拒加入Van Halen重搖滾樂團

  Patty Smyth說 : Eddie Van Halen曾經邀請她在David Lee Roth離開該團時加入Van Halen。

  這位前Scandal合唱團的主唱表示 : 她之所以不願加入Van Halen主要因為他們酒癮很大。

  "他們都是酒鬼" Patty Smyth告訴記者，"我不喝酒"，她也不想離開家鄉，"我從沒想過會在洛杉磯生活，我來自紐約，我不要搬去洛杉磯"。

  但是Smyth說他說不定會答應Van Halen的邀約一起錄一張專輯。

   "那是一種意涵因為如果Eddie對我說 '我們錄一張唱片'，我會說OK，但是加入他們---對她而言---'我的天，當時來自荷蘭的 Eddie和他弟弟Alex Van Halen常吵架，我不想深陷於不穩定的狀態，因為我那時懷孕八個月，也許荷爾蒙激素影響吧，我想的是如何保護好我自己，但我遺憾拒絕了他，很長一段時間我都後悔，當你開始後悔心裡會想 ' 喔 ! 說不定如果去了我會賺很多錢 ' "。

   "很多年來我從未跟別人講此事，我打電話給Eddie，他很高興，他說 : '我不想說我邀請你加入我們樂團的事，我怕Sammy Hagar知道我先邀請妳會感覺他是第二個選擇 '，所以後來我也不說此事 "。

   Van Halen重搖滾樂團1970年代後期成立於加州Pasadenna，暢銷曲很多，是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第176名的知名Hard-Rock重搖滾樂團，David Lee Roth離開Van Halen之後1985年由 Sammy Hagar取代他主唱的位置，直到1996年離開。

  Patty Smyth  1957年出生於紐約布魯克林區，是Scandal合唱團的女主唱，他的第二任丈夫是知名的職業網球選手John McEnroe約翰麥肯洛。
