Sting保護熱帶雨林

Paul Simon、James Taylor、Dionne Warwick等熱門歌壇巨星將參加Sting的第25屆保護熱帶雨林演唱會。

四月17日演唱會將在紐約卡耐基音樂廳舉行，除了Sting與Paul Simon、James Taylor、Dionne Warwick等熱門歌壇巨星之外，還有歌劇名星Ren'ee Fleming及小喇叭手Chris Botti一同演出。

更多藝人會陸續加入這場演唱會，上次活動於2012年舉辦，主題是Music from the Silver Screen「來自銀幕的音樂」，參加的藝人有James Taylor、Elton John、Bruno Mars、Jennifer Hudson、鄉村歌星Vince Gill、Rosanne Cash與影后Meryl Streep。

「保護熱帶雨林基金會」 由Sting與妻子Trudie Styler於1989年創立，過去23年來協助保護了全球成千上萬畝熱帶雨林。

這場演唱會票價從美金150元起跳，但基金會有美金600到50000元的貴賓券，除了看演唱會外還可以在會後派對與巨星見面。

Sting原是The Police合唱團主唱，1951 出生於英國Wallsend，本名Gordon Sumner， Sting自1985年起個人灌唱片，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第209名，他於1983年The Police合唱團時代的8週冠軍曲Every Breath You Take是生涯最有名的歌。

敘事歌曲作詞人去世

"The Ballad Of Bonnie & Clyde" "Billy Don't Be A Hero" "The Night Chicago Died" 及 "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast"這些1960與1970年代暢銷曲的作詞者Peter Callander二月25日已因心臟病於英國Middlesex郡的Haresfield去世（74歲） 。

前述四首歌"The Ballad Of Bonnie & Clyde"是George Fame1968年第7名的暢銷曲，"Billy Don't Be A Hero"是1974年Bo Donalson的冠軍曲，"The Night Chicago Died"則是Paper Lace 1974年的冠軍曲，而"Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast"於1972年由Wayne Newton演唱獲得第4名。

Peter Callander寫的這些歌有共同的特色，可以歸類為Saga敘事歌曲，如Bonnie & Clyde是有名的鴛鴦大盜，"The Night Chicago Died"則提及芝加哥的黑幫老大Al Capone，"Billy Don't Be A Hero"說的是南北戰爭時的一個小兵不聽勸最後戰死沙場的故事，"Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast"則是一小孩要老爸別離家而去…，每一首歌的故事都很精彩。

Peter Callander 1939年出生於英國，除作曲外也有自己的出版公司，並創立音樂版稅組織PRS for Music，他的作品在英國亦曾由Cilla Black、Tom Jones、Cliff Richard，Shirley Bassey與The Tremeloes及其他許多名歌星與合唱團演唱。

 

唱紅"The Night Chicago Died"的Paper Lace是一個英國合唱團，且只有這一首Top 40的歌。

Youngbloods團員去世

民謠搖滾樂團The Youngbloods的創團吉它手Jerry Corbitt三月九日不幸於德州家中去世，這個合唱團1966年由Jesse Colin Young領銜於波士頓組成，起初是一個民歌二重唱，後來加入了Lowell Levinger 與Joe Bauer才從民歌二重唱變身為民謠搖滾樂團，接著就和RCA唱片公司簽了約。

The Youngbloods的第一首單曲是Grizzly Bear只得到第52名，但第二張專輯裡的Get Together後來讓他們成名，這首歌1967年初次推出也只得到62 名，但1969年因為被選為全美基督教與猶太教大會的宣傳用歌，讓第二次推出的Get Together得到了第5名，原先擔任作曲與主唱的Jerry Corbitt也於該年離團而去，後來與Charlie Daniels一度以二重唱的形態巡迴演唱。

Jerry Corbitt除了製作後 Youngbloods的專輯外，也幫Don McLean的暢銷曲Castles In The Air擔任過製作人，1984-1985年Jerry曾復出與The Youngbloods老友一同開演唱會。

Get Together是一首百聽不厭令人懷念的民歌。

Steely Dan打工團員要版稅

早年曾參加過搖滾樂團Steely Dan的團員David Palmer，二月底為版稅問題在洛杉磯法院出庭，他認為該團在網路與衛星通路播的歌有他1972到1973年唱過的歌，但這還不是主要的問題，因另一筆在2012年底到2013年共九個月的版稅，他確曾領過六分之一即八千美元，所以這個版稅爭議要從2000年時開始查起。

David曾唱過"Dirty Work" 與 "Brooklyn (Owes the Charmer Under Me)"，也唱過"Reeling In the Years"等歌的和聲，他還寫過Carole King暢銷曲"Jazzman"的歌詞，他從這些工作賺取版稅。

Steely Dan是於洛杉磯組成的搖滾樂團，主要成員是主唱與吉他手Donald Fagen及主唱與貝斯手Walter Becker，他們是一個錄音室合唱團，除二位主要團員外，其餘團員都從錄音室網羅，David Palmer即其中之一。

Steely Dan在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1974年第4名的歌Rikki Don't Lose That Number，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第382名，2001年獲選入搖滾樂名人堂。

Zombies的主唱復出

1960年代後期著名的搖滾樂團The Zombies的主唱Colin Bluestone最近將做40多年來首度個人巡迴演唱，這位受歡迎的歌手今年春季將為元月推出的專輯On the Air Tonight打歌。

目前為止五月8日在亞特蘭大州、新罕布夏州與五月15日芝加哥的演唱會已經敲定，Bluestone的樂隊將有The Zombies現在的團員鼓手Steve Rodford與吉他手Tom Toomey參與，五月底他將轉往英國演出，十月份則安排到荷蘭表演。

Colin Bluestone的演唱會安排在The Zombies春季美國巡迴之後舉辦，他們四月8日從佛羅里達州的Hallandale Beach開始唱到五月4日於德州The Woodlands結束。

在美國巡迴演唱之前，四月初The Zombies將參加Moody Blues第二屆歌迷演唱會，而之前他們則在英國與The Yardbirds，Animals＆Friends及Maggie Bell參加The Ultimate Rhythm＆Blues五十週年演唱會。

The Zombies於1960年代前期於英國Hertfordshire組成，1967年解散，但吉他手Rod Argent 1969年另組Argent。

Zombies的成名曲是1964年的She' s Not There，曾獲第2名的這首歌是滾石雜誌500名曲榜第291名的歌。

David Crosby心導管手術

前The Byrds 與Crosby, Stills & Nash合唱團成員David Crosby 2月14日做了心導管手術，他之前已經裝了二條導管，現年72歲的David Crosby原訂本月與CSN的演出只好延後。

Crosby, Stills & Nash即David Crosby、Stephen Stills 與 Graham Nash，是1970年代著名的民謠搖滾合唱團，David Crosby曾是The Byrds合唱團的團員，Stephen Stills則是The Buffalo Springfield合唱團團員，Graham Nash則參加過The Hollies合唱團，而Neil Young之前也參加過The Buffalo Springfield，且自1970-1974年也參加過CSN，當時叫Crosby, Stills , Nash & Young。

這個合唱團在排行榜上雖然沒有特別好的成績，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜上僅獲得第455名，但在搖滾樂迷心目中卻有一定的地位，不管有沒有進過排行榜的歌都能傳唱至今。

Crosby, Stills & Nash在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1977年第7名的Just A Song Before I Go，另一首由Neil Young所寫的Ohio，是描寫1970年 5月4日肯特州立大學一場反越戰遊行，有四名學生被國民兵槍殺事件的歌，則是他們最有名的歌，曾獲得過排行榜14名，也獲選進搖滾樂名人堂。

David Cassidy 離婚

1970年代以The Partridge Family「歡樂滿人間」電視影集成名的偶像歌手David Cassidy最近又因酒駕鬧新聞，他的第三任妻子Sue Shifrin似乎受不了David的酗酒而訴求離婚且已獲准。

David Cassidy 1950年於紐約Manhattan出生，在加洲長大，是演員Jack Cassid與Evelyn Ward的兒子，1970-1974年的電視影集「歡樂滿人間」讓他名利双收，The Partridge Family合唱團有5首排行榜前20名的歌，而David Cassidy個人重唱Association的Cherish也得到過第9名。

當年在中視播出的「歡樂滿人間」也曾很受台灣觀眾們的歡迎，歌迷們看到今日的David Cassidy一定不勝唏噓吧。
