Paul Simon-Loves Me Like a Rock

  上個月當Paul Simon確定領銜the 2019 Outside Lands festival野外音樂節，這位民謠搖滾傳奇歌手曾宣告他將捐出活動收入給地方環保組織，現在Simon已經透露有二個特定的組織將會收到捐款。

  舊金山公園聯盟San Francisco Parks Alliance 及都市林木之友會 Friends of the Urban Forest將因Simon的善舉獲益，The SFPA成立於1969年，他們和社區配合，地方商業團體和政府支持他們維護既有的美麗公園和公共空間，亦創設新的空間。

  Friends of the Urban Forest成立於1981年，於全舊金山社區公園支援並推廣路樹栽植，從這個概念開始推動起，這個組織已經協助推動栽植路樹超過60,000株，接近全市一半的路樹。

  Simon去年（2018）宣佈不再巡迴演唱，但還是會參加特定的活動演出以募款支援公益活動。

  The Outside Lands festival將在舊金山金門大橋公園舉行，時間從八月9 日至11日，Simon將在11日登台演出。

  今年的演出表上包括幾位退休藝人，其中有Simon的第二任妻子Edie Brickell和她的樂隊New Bohemians，還有Counting Crows 及 soul/gospel 傳奇歌手Mavis Staples，這個活動其他大牌還有饒舌歌手 Childish Gambino 與另類搖滾歌手 Twenty One Pilots。

  Paul Simon出生於1941年，在紐約長大，因Simon&Garfunkel民謠搖滾二重唱的成功而知名，他個人在排行榜上成績最好的歌，是1975年的三週冠軍曲50 Ways To Leave Your Lover，而他1973年在Billboard雜誌Hot 100排行榜獲得第2名的Loves Me Like A Rock，在Cashbox錢櫃雜誌排行榜則獲得冠軍。

Aretha Franklin-Respect

  Aretha Franklin獲頒普立茲身後特別獎，遴選單位於四月15日宣布了這個消息，此外作家Ellen Reid也獲提名今年的普立茲音樂獎，她因為歌劇prism「三稜鏡」首演獲得提名。

 新聞發布同時普立茲獎也供恭喜Aretha Franklin和她的親友，文稿中難免提及Queen of Soul 與Respect這兩個Aretha Franklin的尊稱與成名曲。

  Aretha Franklin獲獎原因是因為不可磨滅的對美國音樂與文化超過五十年的貢獻。

 她是2009以來第一位獲獎音樂人，前一位音樂人獲獎者是傳奇鄉村歌手Hank Williams，普立茲獎的提名單位在有必要時偶而也頒特別獎，其他獲獎音樂人還有Bob Dylan,、John Coltrane、 Thelonious Monk 、Duke Ellington 與George Gershwin，Aretha Franklin還創了一個紀錄，她是1930年以來第一位女性個人獲獎者。

  這個獎是Aretha Franklin長期偶像歌星生涯獲得的許多獎項之一，其中包括the Kennedy Center Honors甘迺迪中心榮譽獎，the Presidential Medal of Freedom美國總統自由獎章及1987年獲選進the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame搖滾樂名人堂。

  Aretha於去年2018因癌症去世（76歲）。

  Respect是Aretha Franklin 1967年第一首冠軍曲，也是滾石雜誌歷年500大歌曲榜第5名的名曲。

  普立茲獎是一個頒給新聞、文學與音樂優良作品，聲譽很高的獎項。

Neil Young-My My ,Hey Hey（Out of The Blue ）

 民謠搖滾傳奇歌手Neil Young四月10日在他的個人網頁貼文宣告：他和他的伴唱樂隊將開始新專輯"high in the Rockies"的錄製工作。

  Young在文中說明：至少有11首新歌是在最近寫的，本週就要開始錄音了。

  E Street Band 的老團員 Nils Lofgren在1970年代早期曾是Crazy Horse的一員，他去年底也回來和大家一起工作，而創團貝斯手Billy Talbot與鼓手Ralph Molina也在內。Neil證實1975年加入Crazy Horse的吉它手Frank "Poncho" Sampedro 2018 年也回來了。

  關於新的計劃，Neil表示：樂團很高興錄製這張專輯，能延續我們的故事，我們很誠摯地希望當專輯今年發行時，歌迷們喜歡我們的新作，我們很高興最近幾天就要開工。

  同時Young也揭露，他考慮組合一張叫"Greatest Misses"的精選輯，其中包括錄好但沒有放進專輯中的作品，其實也是很不錯的歌。

  他也透露他有10 到 15張沒有發行的專輯，他考慮錄完後是否要公諸於世。

  Neil Young 1945年出生於加拿大多倫多，是著名的搖滾樂作曲、歌手及吉它手，1966年組成樂界大牌組合的Buffalo Springfield搖滾樂團，1969開始個人演唱生涯，並組成Crazy Horse伴唱樂隊，1970-1971年曾是Crosby，Stills&Nash的一員。

  Neil Young 1979年的Hey Hey,My My（Into the Black）曾經獲得第79名，但它小唱片反面的My My ,Hey Hey（Out of The Blue ）後來卻進入了搖滾樂名人堂，樂評人與歌迷們反而更喜歡近似A面搖滾樂版同樣調子的B面吉它伴奏版的這首經典之作。

Dionne Warwick-What the World Needs Now Is Love

    流行音樂界傳奇歌星Dionne Warwick，上週三在紐約曼哈頓的一家餐廳舉辦了一場派對，慶祝她的新專輯＜She's Back＞即將發行，Warwick利用這個場合和特別邀請的來賓交流、合照，也藉機接受當地電視記者訪問。

  Dionne在訪問中解釋她為何要重錄Burt Bacharach-Hal David這對詞曲搭檔所寫的老歌"What the World Needs Now Is Love"，放在五月10日即將發行的新專輯中。

  Warwick強調：我們這個世界要一些愛"We need some love in this world"，我們處在一個很混亂的時刻，不單在美國，全世界…那是我關注的…而我們不關心這個事實，那不再是個人而是大家的事，我們應該互相關心。

  Dionne也提供一點正面的經驗給歌迷，她和兒子Damon Elliott也一起為＜She's Back＞專輯工作，Elliott 擔任專輯製作人，他透露Brian McKnight、Bone Thugs-N-Harmony的Krayzie Bone與Kenny Lattimore都替專輯出了力。

  Warwick將出席Grammy終生成就獎頒獎典禮，訪問時記者也問她得這個Grammy獎的感覺。

 

  她說:0得獎感覺很好，我終於得到認可，雖然過程花了他們一段時間，但他們最後做了這事，我有點意外。

  Dionne Warwick 1940年出生於美國紐澤西州East Orange，歌路被樂評人歸類為黑人抒情歌曲，她童年從教堂唱詩班開始唱歌，曾經讀過音樂學院，作品很多，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第36名，她前37首進排行榜的暢銷曲有 33首歌是Burt Bacharach和Hal David二位詞曲大師所作，他似乎成為Burt Bacharach-Hal David作品的主要代言人。

  Dionne Warwick有一位非常有名的表妹，就是已故的Whitney Houston。

  "What the World Needs Now Is Love"這首歌是1965年Jackie DeShannon獲得第7名的成名曲。Dionne Warwick 1966年錄過此曲，雖然沒有推出單曲，卻非常受歡迎。

 

    L.A電台節目主持人Tom Clay 1971年版What The World Needs Now (Abraham,Martin and John)加了1960年代美國甘迺迪總統、弟弟羅伯甘迺迪參議員與金恩博士遇刺的新聞與旁白，獲得過第8名，是一首hard to find 的one hit wonder，值得老歌迷的回味。

  1998年Dionne Warwick w/TheHipHopNationUnited曾合体推出嘻哈版的"What the World Needs Now Is Love"，在熱門排行榜只獲得98名。

Diana Ross-Endless Love

  今天是(3/26)Diana Ross 75歲生日，這位Motown唱片公司起家的巨星，將以一場演唱會來慶祝這個特別的日子。

  這一場演唱會命名"Diamond Diana & Family & Friends 75th Birthday Celebration" ，她這位前Supremes合唱團的招牌主唱將和隊友合唱以前合作過的歌及個人的作品，在活動規劃建議下，Ross也和她的家人及特別來賓聯合演出。

  她鼓勵演唱會的來賓穿金戴銀前來參加盛會。

  另一個慶祝Diana Ross的75歲生日的方法就是在Diana Ross: Her Life, Love and Legacy紀錄片拍片時，加入當臨時演員，這片子日後會全美戲院播映。 這電影取材包括Diana Ross: Live in Central Park的片段​，​那是1983年七月在紐約舉行的歷史性二天演唱會的紀錄，另外還有Diana的子女向他致敬的話。

  1983年七月21日那一天，450,000人擠進紐約中央公園的Great Lawn旁邊看 Diana Ross演唱會，但一場閃電暴雨迫使演唱會提前結束，Ross在舞台上承諾她 次日會回到場上完整演出一次，第二天她真的出現，展現了一場演唱生涯最令 歌迷振奮的演出，那天現場又來了350,000人。

     Diana Ross 1944 3/26出生於底特律，是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第47名的影、歌 雙棲巨星，1961-1969年是The Supremes合唱團的主唱，1988-2000她曾與挪威一 位船運富商Ame Naess結婚，如果將她個人和The Supremes時期的成績合併， Diana Ross是1976 及1981年的冠軍歌星。

  Diana Ross個人成績最好的歌是1981年獲得過九週冠軍，與Lionel Richie合唱的 電影插曲Endless Love。

The Zombies-Time of the Season

  英國搖滾樂團The Zombies本月底（2019/03）將獲選進入搖滾樂名人堂，最近他們推出一套盒裝黑膠唱片The Complete Studio Recordings，其中有他們1960年代全盛時期62首暢銷曲。

  這套盒裝唱片裡有British Invasion 「英國搖滾入侵美國」時走紅的Zombies在美國錄製的二張專輯-1965年的She's Not There/Tell Her No 與 1968年的Odessey & Oracle，另外有二張精選輯-新創作的R.I.P. 與 1965年的 I Love You，這二張專輯只在英國和日本推出過，在這套唱片裡另有一張Oddities & Extras，是一張英國版罕有單曲精選專輯，一共五張。     

  Zombies的創團貝斯手Chris White 3/29也將推出一張之前他未推出過的單曲選集The Chris White Experience (Volume One) ，同一天他們的團也將進入搖滾樂名人堂，這張有13首歌的專輯包括1977 至 2015年的作品，裡面有試錄帶、錄音室裡的合唱、從沒聽過的歌…。

  許多知名音樂圈好友都推崇這張唱片，他們是Chris White在 Zombies 合唱團的隊友 Colin Blunstone、 Rod Argent 和 Hugh Grundy，前Procol Harum 鍵琴手 Matthew Fisher，Argent合唱團團員Jim Rodford、Bob Henrit、Russ Ballard和 John Verity，Humble Pie 吉他手 Clem Clempson及Styx鼓手Todd Sucherman。

  除了當The Zombies的貝斯手，Chris White也協助製作和寫他們1968年的經典專輯Odessey & Oracle之中大部分的歌，1967年Zombies解散後，White繼續替主鍵琴手Rod Argent接著成立的Argent合唱團協助製作並寫歌。

  The Zombies 1968年的經典專輯Odessey & Oracle之中有一首"Time of the Season"，曾經獲得Billboard票房雜誌熱門排行榜2週第3名，在Cashbox 錢櫃雜誌則獲得冠軍，後來進入搖滾樂名人堂，是一首伴奏非常特別，很好聽的歌。
