1963年由Chet Powers所寫的"Get Together"原名"Let's Get
Together"，Chet Powers也用過藝名Jesse
Oris Farrow，他也曾是來自舊金山的搖滾樂團Quicksilver Messenger
Service的主唱 Dino Valenti，他的三個藝名常令歌迷搞混。
"Get Together"這首歌最早於1964年由the Kingston Trio 及 David Crosby錄過，時間差不到幾個禮拜，接著有We Five 和Jefferson Airplane跟著翻唱，那是在1967年 The Youngbloods錄這首歌之前。
The
Youngbloods初次推出的"Get Together"在排行榜上只得到第62名，後來這首歌被基督教和猶太教在電台當召集信眾聚會的宣傳用歌，然後於1969年6月再度推出，第二次發行的"Get Together"這首歌在Billboard雜誌的熱門排行榜獲得第5名。
"Get Together"是一首令人難忘、時時刻刻縈繞心頭的的動聽情歌，是和平與手足情的代表性歌曲，它告訴我們對不可抗拒的死亡率需做甚麼?它談到關於我們對愛與恨的一種選擇，它給我們甚至後代的一個警告。
1969年9月當這首歌進入排行榜Top 20時，有一小夥年輕人，當時是一票在偏僻的沙漠社區生活的嬉皮，他們侵入了女星莎崙泰蒂 Sharon Tate的家裡，他們殘殺了Sharon Tate和他的朋友，此案不僅攸關大麻或自由性愛而已，它毀了整個世代…，他帶給大眾的是恐怖、懦夫行為、冷血謀殺策劃及掛著和平與愛的邪惡不滿份子。
此案離現在已久遠，媒體圈還有人將主謀Manson Family 的Charles Manson和追隨者視為名人，Sharon Tate和一起犧牲的朋友們或許曾獲得適當的哀悼，但這首歌帶來的警示並不遲。
