Terry Jacks-Seasons in the Sun

    1974年 Terry Jacks 的暢銷曲“Seasons in the Sun”是由法國籍作曲人      Jacques Brel  原作  

  “Le Moribond”所改寫的，Terry Jacks 翻唱1964年THE Kinston Trio 所唱   Rod McKuen  改寫的英

語版。   

  很多畢業晚會裡畢業生會唱'we are joy we are fun we are seasons in the sun'，但內行的長輩會說不要在這樣的場合唱這首歌，因為那是一首死亡搖滾。

  這首歌的作者對所有人與事說再見，Michelle是借用Jacques Brel的妻子之名。

  然而也有樂評人認為改編過的此曲是對原作的一種令人作嘔的模仿，完全缺乏原作的悲悵和黑色幽默，翻譯的效果不太好，還有Brel的“Le Moribond”對他即將來到之死更為直白。

  The Poppy Family因為是Terry Jacks與Susan Jacks夫妻檔組成，一度被形容為加拿大的The Cowsills。Terry Jacks與Susan Jacks後來分手從事各自的歌唱生涯。

  Terry Jacks的“Seasons in the Sun”1974年初推出後獲得Billboard Hot 100連續3周冠軍，但The Poppy Family1970年獲得連續2周第2名的名曲“Which Way You Goin’ Billy? ”更曾經是在台灣非常受歡迎的歌。
