自2023 年 5 月開始有消息 Queen 皇后樂團要賣以來，有大量媒體報導稱皇后樂團正在尋求創紀錄的10 億美元目錄銷售額。儘管其中許多報導表明皇后樂團正在與環球音樂集團進行討論，好萊塢的所有者迪士尼也曾與迪士尼接洽，消息人士稱，樂團的音樂資產只給少數選定的追求者購買，因為樂團成員希望放心地委託管理其資產。此外消息人士稱，一些潛在的策略買家可能已與金融機構合作提出報價。
有消息稱，每位 Queen 的樂團成員—— Brian May、Roger Taylor、John Deacon 和已故 Freddie Mercury 的遺產管理人——都有自己的律師參與集體處理這筆交易。Billboard 雜誌聯繫了現在或曾經是樂隊公司高管的律師，Queen Productions Ltd.、好萊塢唱片公司和 UMG，所有這些公司要麼拒絕置評請求，要麼沒有回應。

Queen 的作品很多，是歷年暢銷歌星與樂團第125名的知名搖滾樂團，2018年獲得Grammy終生成就獎。他們在Billboard Hot 100 排行榜上名次最好的歌是 ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love”（#1/1979），那是一首連續4周冠軍曲，
