Joni Mitchell-Both Sides, Now

    著名的加拿大搖滾樂手Nei Young元月底發布聲明，指責最紅播客喬羅根（Joe Rogan）散布有關疫苗的假消息可能導致他人死亡，要求Spotify將他的音樂下架。另一位知名的加拿大民歌手Joni Mitchell數天後跟進，也要求將她的音樂下架。羅根後來道歉，表示會更努力在節目中呈現各種不同意見。

         Nei Young於1995年進入搖滾樂名人堂，他在Billboard Hot 100排行榜上名次最好的歌是1972年獲得過冠軍的"Heart Of Gold"。而Joni Mitchell除了1997年進入搖滾樂名人堂之外，他於1995年即獲選Billboard Century世紀歌星，並於2002年獲得 Grammy Lifetime Achievement 終身成就獎。

Joni Mitchell最有名的歌沒有推出過單曲，是1969年錄製在滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜獲得171名的"Both Sides Now"。

Joni Mitchell初次婚姻於60年代後期結束，但她的音樂事業卻有亮點，因為Judy Collins 翻唱她的作品"Both Sides Now"獲得Billboard Hot 100排行榜第8名(1968)，Mitchell於她的1969年的專輯〈Clouds〉當中也唱了這首歌，她描述她寫這一首歌是對現實和幻想的沉思…，構想很偉大，但她自謙只了解一點皮毛。

Sade-By Your Side

  樂評人最近選出的50首21世紀最佳情歌，Sade 的"By Your Side" (2000)排名第7。

  如果一首歌可以當作哭泣時的肩膀，那將會是“By Your Side”「在你身邊」。

Meat Loaf-Two Out of Three Ain't Bad

    Meat Loaf的專輯《Bat Out of Hell》「地獄裡飛出來的蝙蝠」重新進入Billboard雜誌所有類型的排行榜而且名次創新高，此事發生於這位美國歌星及演員去世之後。

  《Bat Out of Hell》在Billboard 200 專輯排行榜獲得第13名，2月5日推出後就超過了1978.年最高獲得過的14名。

  本名Michael Lee Aday 的Meat Loaf也重新進入藝人排行榜the Billboard Artist 100，獲得第3名。

  Meat Loaf元月20日在田納西州Nashville去世，他感染了新冠肺炎。

 

  《Bat Out of Hell》這張專輯推出後在Top Rock Albums chart搖滾樂排行榜獲得第 10名，Top Hard Rock Albums chart重搖滾排行榜獲得第2名，重新推出的這張專輯也在Top Album Sales chart專輯銷售排行榜獲得第 22名。

 

       本名Marvin Lee Aday的Meat Loaf於1947年9月出生於德州達拉斯，原來是一位劇場搖滾歌手，後來在Ted Nugent的專輯《Free-For-All》擔任主唱而出名，他也在洛杉磯舞台劇和電影The Rocky Horror Picture Show《洛基恐怖秀》演Eddie，還在其它幾部電影裡客串演出過。  

       Meat Loaf 1977年非常受歡迎的專輯《Bat Out of Hell》中的"Two Out of Three Ain't Bad"曾獲得Billboard Hot 100排行榜第11名，曾經是一首非常紅的歌，後來根據網路下載量統計獲得白金唱片。

       Meat Loaf在 Billboard Hot 100排行榜上名次最好的歌是1993年9月推出獲得連續5週冠軍的" I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) "，此曲女生部分由Lorraine Crosby演唱 。

Ray Stevens-Misty

  Clint Eastwood 克林伊斯威特主演及首度執導的電影〈Play Misty For ME〉「迷霧追魂」講得是一個廣播電台音樂節目的歌迷經常點播'Misty '這首歌而與節目主持人搭上線，最後主持人遭此病態歌迷死亡威脅的劇情，除了電影主題曲由Roberta Flack演唱的'The First Time Ever I Saw your Face '獲得6周冠軍也獲得Grammy獎1972年年度唱片及歌曲獎之外，全劇的關鍵歌曲'Misty '也值得你了解一下。

  演唱' Misty '的歌手不少，進入排行榜Top 20 的則有Johnny Mathis及Ray Stevens 的版本。

  Ray Stevens 翻唱經典爵士樂 Misty「迷霧」的原曲， 其版本之所以能在流行音樂界成為令歌迷們懷念的歌曲，主要因為它是一首爵士風味的鄉村與西部歌曲 (country & western 簡稱C&W)。'Misty '是黑人爵士鋼琴手 Erroll Garner於1954年所寫的，紅了好一段時間後由好萊塢知名作詞人Johnny Burke 填上歌詞，抒情歌星Johnny Mathis 的版本成了他的招牌歌，Ella Fitzgerald、Sarah Vaughan 等名歌星也翻唱過這首歌。後來Ray Stevens 決定將'Misty '再製成一首 C&W風味的歌。Ray Stevens是一個曲風獨特的藝人，他創作了很多搞笑歌曲，'Misty '是他的作品中在商業上最成功的一首歌。

  這首歌的編曲嚴守C&W風，遣詞造句仍然有Garner 和 Webb 原味，但歌詞則加了Stevens 式的喧囂味。 

  'Misty'這首歌基本上描寫某人對女友有一種茫然不清的感覺，他對他倆的關係做長期的打算。

  Ray Stevens 於1939年出生於美國喬治亞州 Clarkdale，能歌能唱還精於多種樂器，1960年代中期是 Andy Williams電視節目常客，1970 年代也有自己的電視節目，他也用Henhouse Five Plus Too化名灌唱片，Stevens作品很多，是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第214名的知名歌星。

  Ray Stevens版的'Misty'這首歌於1975年4月推出，獲得過Billboard Hot 100排行榜第14名，而由爵士轉抒情的歌手Johnny Mathis 版的 'Misty'則更早於1959年10月推出，最高獲得第12名。

The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps

  藍調搖滾樂手Eric Clapton 不是the Yardbirds 合唱團第一個主唱吉他手(1963-1965)，但他在該團那段時間的確開始漸漸出名，而且在離開時已經很有名了。

      60年代的Eric Clapton還是一個藍調音樂信徒，在英國音樂界他還不能與George Harrison相提並論，Harrison沒有Clapton熟練，但他身處一個Clapton都很想加入的非常棒的合唱團，他參與製作的專輯比Clapton製作的專輯還要好。

   多年期間他倆合作過二次以上，但他們最有名的二次合作是在60年代，1968年Harrison 找 Clapton 在The Beatles〈White Album〉專輯裡的單曲'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'「當我的吉他輕聲地哭泣」擔任吉他獨奏，Paul McCartney則擔任鋼琴前奏，這是Harrison個人最成功的歌曲之一。而Clapton 則邀請Harrison一起寫他為Cream合唱團製作的名曲 'Badge' 「徽章」(#69/69)並擔任吉他手。

     即使Clapton愛上了Harrison的太太Patti，但也沒有傷害他倆的友情，後來他們還互相開玩笑說他倆只是'husbands-in-law'「法律上的丈夫」。Harrison去世後Clapton 擔任追思音樂會的音樂指導，在音樂會裡獨奏了'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'。

     George Harrison (1943-2001) 是The Beatles披頭四合唱團的主奏吉他手，披頭四解散後他個人也推出過不少暢銷曲，也參加過超級合唱團Teaveling Wilburys，Harrison於披頭四時期主唱最有名的歌就是'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'、'Something' 及'Here Comes The Sun'。

The Ronettes-Be My Baby

  Ronnie Spector 01/12/2022 去世，Brian Wilson 、Joan Jett及許多流行音樂界知名人士在社群網站發文懷念她 。

  Ronnie Spector因身為60年代The Ronettes 唱團的看板人物而知名，她於元月12日因癌症去世(78歲)。

  Ronnie Spector的家人在她的網站證實了她的死訊，“我們深愛的地球天使Ronnie在和癌症短暫的奮戰之後，在先生Jonathan的臂彎和家人的環伺下平和地離開這個世界。Ronnie生前眼裡始終閃爍著光芒，在她的臉上有一種勇敢的態度，一種調皮的幽默感和微笑，心中充滿了愛和感激“。

  經典合唱團The Beach Boys的要角Brian Wilson表示 : 我剛聽到Ronnie Spector的死訊，我不知道說什麼好，我很喜歡她的歌聲，她是一個很特別的人，是我的好朋友，她的死令人傷心…。

  重搖滾女主唱Joan Jett 說 : 我們的好朋友Ronnie Spector是一個甜心，她使搖滾樂深植人心。

   黑人女聲合唱團The Ronettes 組團於紐約，原名Veronica Bennett的Ronnie Spector與妹妹及表妹三人組成the Darling Sisters合唱團，1962年時她們替著名的唱片製作人Phil Spector工作，Veronica因後來嫁給Phil Spector(1968-1974年)而改名Ronnie Spector。

  The Ronettes於1963年以“Be My Baby”一曲成名，此曲獲得Cashbox錢櫃雜誌排行榜冠軍(Billboard雜誌則獲得三週第2名) 。

  因有一副好歌喉，Ronnie Spector在Eddie Money的暢銷曲“ Take Me Home Tonigh ”(#4/1986)應邀拔刀相助，即使她只唱“Be My Baby”的歌名都使“ Take Me Home Tonigh ”增色不少。

Carly Simon -You're So Vain

  Carly Simon 1972 年的冠軍曲"You're So Vain"的歌詞中有一句"I had a dream there were clouds in my coffee"「我夢見我的咖啡裡有雲」是什麼意思 ? 也許大多數聽友會從某人的角度去看，但隨著時光飛逝，這個問題也沒人去關心了。

  Carly Simon表示“ they were clouds in my coffee “這句子的構想來自有一次搭飛機的時候，她的一位工作夥伴Billy Mernit注意到白雲反射在她的咖啡上，告訴她"look at the clouds in your coffee"「看看妳咖啡裡的雲」，這句話後來被套用到她寫的"You're So Vain"的歌詞裡。

  Carly Simon進一步加以說明 : 我咖啡裡的雲朵是生活和愛情中令人困惑的一面，你無法看穿，但似乎很誘人。就像海市蜃樓變成了乾涸的土地。也許在咖啡杯底部你可以讀到一些東西  (就如茶葉或咖啡粉) ，就是這樣。就我自己而言，我很困惑，但這首歌很棒，這神秘的歌詞背後有個故事。
