Kiss 合唱團的吉它手現年59歲的Paul Stanley 2月25日宣佈：它和38歲的太太Erin八月份將有第三個小孩，Paul 與Erin現已有二個小孩，他和前妻另有一子。
Kiss是一個在紐約組成的搖滾樂團，他們以像唱京戲般的化妝在劇場作舞台表演出名，四名原始團員Gene Simmons、Paul Stanley、Ace Frehley與Peter Criss都能唱，他們1970年代中期走紅，直到1983年的專輯唱片Lick It Up的封面，才初次以未化妝的本尊面貌面對歌迷，Kiss是歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行第242名的重搖滾樂團，他們名次最好的歌反而是一首抒情曲：1976年第7名的Beth，這首歌是他們的鼓手Peter Criss所寫的。

電影「往事如煙」與一首特別的情歌
很多暢銷曲來自一句話或一部電影所產生的靈感，按照作曲者Norro Wilson的說法，Charlie Rich 1974 年鄉村歌曲排行榜冠軍曲A Very Special Love Song就是這類歌曲之一。
Wilson表示：他很喜歡The Summer Of 42「往事如煙」電影的主題曲（Theme From Summer Of 42是Peter Nero 1971年第21名的演奏曲），當年他在Billy Sherrill的辦公室隨意彈還在寫的這首歌的片段，Billy聽到後覺得不錯，而且剛好他準備幫Charlie Rich安排錄音，就與Norro Wilson一同完成這首特別的情歌A Very Special Love Song。
A Very Special Love Song的單曲在1974年二月23日進鄉村歌曲排行榜，四月6日獲得冠軍，而且持續三週，之前這首歌在熱門歌曲排行榜則最高得到11名。

Rod Stewart 又獲麟兒
老歌星Rod Stewart 二月16日喜獲麟兒，他現任老婆Penny又替他生了一個兒子Aien，這是他倆第二個小孩，Rod Stewart 1945年出生於倫敦，現年已66歲，真是老而彌堅，他一共已有八個小孩。

Tom Johnston有女繼承衣缽
The Doobie Brothers 合唱團早期主唱 Tom Johnston的女兒Lara Johnston，2月9日在電視節目American Idol通過複賽的考驗進入決賽，她目前在南加大就學，主修音樂。

加拿大作曲人名人堂與歌
1950年代後期的抒情歌手Jack Scott ，和The Band合唱團的團員Robbie Robertson 4月2日將放進加拿大的作曲人名人堂，Jack Scott有Burning Bridges、My True Love、What In The World’s Come Over You等三首排行榜前十名的暢銷曲，是歷年暢銷歌星排行第373名的歌手，此外Skylark的Wildflower和The Motherlode 的When I Die亦將同時獲得表揚，當然，前面所提到的這些歌星與合唱團都來自加拿大。

Gary Moore與Thin Lizzy
曾經參加過Skid Row 、Thin Lizzy合唱團的搖滾樂歌手、吉它手Gary Moore，2月6日在西班牙渡假時不幸去世（58歲），Thin Lizzy是一個來自愛爾蘭都伯林的搖滾樂團，1976年曾有一首得過12名的The Boys Are Back In Town，在滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜獲得499名，樂評家們投票給這首歌的原因在主唱Phil Lynott是巴西水手與他愛爾蘭母親所生，他以一個自稱壞小子的背景，唱出愛爾蘭人的心聲，但後來因吸毒去世（1986），他在愛爾蘭人的心目中留下了有如Bruce Springsteen般的地位。
The Boys Are Back In Town成功的另一個原因是Scott Gorham和Brian Robertson的雙吉它的給力，Gary Moore當時並不在團中。

Johnny Maestro之路
已故的前the Crests 和 the Brooklyn Bridge合唱團的主唱 Johnny Maestro，三月26日將獲紐約市頒贈一項榮譽，去年12月20日市長彭博簽署市議會通過的決議，將Staten島的Midland 和Mason大道間的一段馬路命名為Johnny Maestro之路。
Johnny Maestro去年三月因癌症去世（70歲），1950年代他所參加的the Crests合唱團是一個黑白混合的合唱團，1958年第二名的16 candles是他們當年最受歡迎的歌，而1960年代他所參加的the Brooklyn Bridge合唱團則以1968年Jimmy Webb所寫的the Worst That Could Happen那首第3名的歌最為出名，這首歌最早曾經由The 5th Dimension先唱過，Johnny Maestro這版很有blue eyed soul的風味。

電影配樂家John Barry逝世
以1965年007電影Goldfinger「金手指」的主題曲而成名的五屆奧斯卡獎得主John Barry，元月30日在紐約因心臟病去世（77歲），John Barry出生於英國York，是一位多產電影配樂家與樂團指揮，光007電影他就接了11集，其他還有Midnight Cowboy「午夜牛郎」、Born Free「獅子與我」、The Lion In Winter,「冬之獅」、Out Of Africa「遠離非洲」、Dances With Wolves「與狼共舞」等名片的配樂都是他寫的，John Barry因在音樂圈的成就，曾在1999年獲英國女王頒授大英帝國官員勳章。
