Cliff Richard傳遞奧運聖火

在英國極受歡迎並有子爵榮銜的資深男歌星Cliff Richard，這回也參與從希臘到倫敦的奧運聖火傳遞工作，6月30日週末夜，Cliff爵士在伯明罕跑了分配給他的那一段路程。


Cliff Richard 1940年出生於印度Lucknow，本名Harry Rodger Webb，是一位搖滾樂手、吉它手與演員，在英國的排行榜裡他有超過125首暢銷曲，其中有14首歌獲得過排行榜冠軍，在The Young Ones與Summer Holiday等電影的演出，使年輕的他當年在台灣也很受歡迎，因此還有「英國貓王」的外號，前些年另一位英國歌手Englebert Humperdink來台演出，唱片公司以「英國貓王」宣傳是完全錯誤的，以渾厚歌喉演唱抒情曲的Englebert Humperdink又不彈吉它，與貓王有何干係？

Cliff Richard在美國的排行榜也有不少受歡迎的歌，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第350名，其中名次最好的歌是1976年第6名的Devil Woman，不過對台灣的老歌迷而言，電影主題曲Summer Holiday 是最令人懷念的旋律。
