受歡迎的男歌星Glen Campbell 6月24日在洛杉磯的演唱會裡宣佈那是他最後一場演唱會，最近Glen Campbell與他三位兒女進行告別演唱會，他的音樂影帶A Better Place才剛發行不久。
時間過得很快，1975年的此時，Glen Campbell那首動聽的Rhinestone Cowboy是他第32首進鄉村歌曲排行榜的暢銷曲，也是他第4首獲得鄉村歌曲排行榜冠軍的歌 ，Rhinestone Cowboy當年6月7日進榜，後來也獲得流行歌曲排行榜冠軍，並獲得鄉村音樂協會CMA的年度最佳歌曲獎，在今年二月12日的Grammy獎頒獎典禮中，Glen Campbell演唱了這首Rhinestone Cowboy向大家告別。
Glen Campbell 1936年出生於阿肯色州Delight，是一位鄉村流行歌曲歌手、作曲人與出色的吉他手，早年於專業錄音室幫許多歌手與樂團灌過唱片，後於1965年加入過著名的The Beach Boys合唱團，1968-1972年有自己的電視節目，1969年曾應約翰韋恩之邀演過2010年重拍過的電影True Grit「大地驚雷」，約翰韋恩當年因該片的演出獲得奧斯卡最佳男主角獎，。
Glen Campbell 自1962-1993年一共有75首鄉村歌曲排行榜暢銷曲，在抒情歌曲排行榜也有42首暢銷曲，在流行歌曲的歷年暢銷歌星排行榜則獲得第84名的好成績。
Glen Campbell 2005年被選入鄉村歌曲名人堂，Grammy獎則於上個月18日頒給他終生成就獎。
76歲的Glen Campbell去年發現罹患阿茲海默症，雖然他仍能彈吉他與演唱，但家人顯然不希望他在舞台上給歌迷們留下不好的印象，是與大家告別的時候了。
