Billy Joel曾跨界獲得舞台劇最佳音樂東尼獎，因為他所寫反映中下階層生活的歌-1977 專輯唱片The Stranger中的 Movin' Out (Anthony's Song）替同名百老匯舞台劇增色不少，這首歌於1978年曾獲熱門排行榜第17名。
