  來自加州舊金山 1966 年成立的的跨種族「迷幻靈魂」樂團 The Stoners 後來改稱 The Family Stone 樂團。還組過 Little Sister樂團。 1969 年他們參加了Woodstock 伍德斯托克音樂節。 1970 年代中期，他的職業生涯開始走下坡。

  Sly and the Family Stone 2017 年曾獲得葛萊美終身成就獎 。1993 年進入搖滾樂 R&R 名人堂。在歷年暢銷歌星合唱團排行獲得第236名。
