   "High Hopes" 本來是二十世紀歌王Frank Sinatra(1915-1998) 於1959年獲得過30名的一首老歌，它也獲得當年奧斯卡金像獎最佳電影歌曲獎，它是Frank Sinatra自己主演的電影A Hole In The Head的插曲，單曲以Frank Sinatra and a bunch of kids(featuring Eddie Hodges)推出。

  Panic! at the Disco的"High Hopes"則是他們的主唱Brendon Urie的創作歌曲，與Frank Sinatra的版本並不相同。

  Panic! at the Disco是一個來自拉斯維加的龐克搖滾樂團，主唱是Brendon Urie，2006年他們以I Write Sins Not Tragedies獲得Billboard Hot 100排行榜第七名而嶄露頭角，他們的"High Hopes"於2018年6/9推出37週後最高獲得第4名，是他們在流行歌曲榜名次最好的歌。

     Panic! at the Disco的主唱Brendon Urie 很崇拜Frank Sinatra，唱起Sinatra的老歌也很有韻味，他以"High Hopes"的意思「厚望」寫了這首歌，歌迷們愛屋及烏也很喜歡這首歌，有人誤以為是Frank Sinatra所唱，還有歌迷說他的祖父因此曲而喜歡Brendon Urie的歌。

     Spencer Day是一位現代爵士歌手、作曲人，2002-2003從CBS 追星節目出線，他以仿Frank Sinatra的復古感錄了Panic At The Disco 的"High Hopes"這首歌(High Hopes - Panic At The Disco (Vintage Frank Sinatra Style Cover) ft. Spencer Day)，表演的感覺像極了Frank Sinatra走紅的那個年代，歌喉又像Brendon Urie，就連Nora Germain的小提琴獨奏都受到許多歌迷們的歡迎，有人覺得小提琴能奏來像薩克斯風，也真不簡單。 

  近幾年流行的 PostModern 後現代老歌新唱，讓Ballad歌謠、Big-band大樂隊、Smooth抒情曲、Ragtime散拍音樂、Bluegrass青草地、R&B節奏與藍調、 Soul 靈魂歌曲…等各個時代的經典重現，這首以PostModern手法演唱新創作的"High Hopes"是其中的佼佼者。

   到目前為止(2020)The Beatles依然是搖滾樂團的頭牌。

   The Beatles的唱片銷售量在2020前半年是搖滾樂團的冠軍。

    根據尼爾森年中統計，這個指標性合唱團從一月到六月專輯與網路下載及串流總數達 100萬9,400次。

      排前五名的另外四個搖滾樂團是 Queen、Imagine Dragons、Fleetwood Mac 、Metallica。

        排行榜前五名的專輯是Queen的 Greatest Hits、Elton John的Diamonds 、Creedence Clearwater Revival的 Chronicle Vol. 1、Journey的Greatest Hits 以及Fleetwood Mac的Rumours 。

    排行前五名的單曲是Imagine Dragons的"Believer"、Journey的 "Don't Stop Believin" 、Queen的 "Bohemian Rhapsody"、 Panic! at the Disco的 "High Hopes" 以及The Eagles的"Hotel California"。

    Imagine Dragons是一個另類搖滾樂團，組團於拉斯維加，主唱是Dan Reynolds，2012年他們以一首Radioactive獲得Billboard Hot 100排行榜第3名，後來獲得Grammy 最佳搖滾樂演唱獎而成名。

    Imagine Dragons這一首"Believer"於2017年獲得過第4名，這個目前搖滾樂單曲銷售第一名的歌目前觀看次數已超過15 億，一首2017的暢銷曲能勝過Journey 1981年即推出的老歌，可見其受歡迎的程度，我想 1977年Bob Seger的名曲"Rock and Roll Never Forgets"這一個歌名可以描寫搖滾樂代代相傳，從來沒有被歌迷們忘記來形容這個現象。

Ringo Starr -Photograph

  Ringo Starr  7/4曾宣布他的80歲生日公益演唱會將由Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh和Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark, Jr., Sheila E 及 Ben Harper等大牌歌星領銜演出。

  演唱會包括在家裡的表演和這些藝人沒有公開發行過的演唱片段，這一場演唱會7月7日已於已於YouTube首播。

      Ringo在接受滾石雜誌訪問時說 : "今年有一點不同，沒有大夥相聚的場面，沒有早午餐，但會有一個小時的音樂和聊天，這是一個很大的生日派對"。

   "大家都知道我過生日的時候喜歡和歌迷們來上一個和平與愛的聚會"，這位前 Beatles披頭合唱團的鼓手在記者會上說 : "但今年我希望大家注意自己的安全留在家裡，所以我打電話給一些朋友，我們還是辦一場很棒的生日演唱會，收益捐給慈善團體"。

    Ringo Starr 於1940 年7月7日出生於英格蘭利物浦，Beatles解散之後他持續以The All Star Band 的名義邀請很多歌壇大牌巡迴演唱，他曾獲得英國女王頒給爵位，Ringo Starr在披頭合唱團時期曾主唱過"Yellow Submarine"、"Act Natually"、"With A Little Help From My Friends"等幾首較有名的歌，個人推出的歌在Billboard Hot 100排行榜上第一首獲得冠軍的歌是1973年的Photograph。

    Ringo Star 1981年曾和007龐德女郎、名模Barbra Bach 結婚 。

Charlie Daniels Band-The Devil Went Down to Georgia

      鄉村音樂傳奇人物Charlie Daniels去世

   鄉村音樂名人堂成員Charlie Daniels 7月6日因中風去世，目前當紅的鄉村歌星Brad Paisley 15歲時得到一個與Daniels一起表演的合同， Daniels的音樂技巧及他倆的深厚友誼令他懷念不已。

   Brad Paisley 1972年出生於美國西維吉尼亞州Glen Dale，是集歌唱、作曲、吉他彈奏於一身的鄉村歌星，1999-2017年有19首歌獲得鄉村歌曲排行榜冠軍。

   Brad Paisley曾到Charlie Daniels的農場錄音室和他一起錄2007 年的專輯 Deuces，現場還有Double Trouble、Stevie Ray Vaughan surviving band，Charlie 負責彈吉他。

   他倆後來在Brad Paisley 2013 年專輯 Wheelhouse再度合作，其中的單曲“Karate”是Brad Paisley與Chris DuBois 及Kelly Loveless一起寫的，歌的內容寫一個受到家暴的人妻，Brad 很喜歡來自Kill Bill一首鄉村歌曲的創意，這個女子的丈夫是個渾蛋，歌裡這一段想以饒舌調表現，Brad立即想到最適合的人就是Charlie Daniels，因為Charlie 懂得對抗及戰鬥的歌，他的名曲“The Devil Went Down to Georgia”就有這個味道。Brad Paisley也覺得Charlie Daniels是饒舌歌曲的開創者之一，饒舌是什麼歌 ? 饒舌歌曲就是歌詞用講的，綜合節奏、談話和旋律。

     Charlie Daniels 1936年出生於美國北卡羅來納州，他是一位鄉村搖滾歌手，小提琴拉得很好，Charlie Daniels Band 在John Travolta主演的電影Urban Cowboy「都市牛郎」當中曾現場演唱“The Devil Went Down to Georgia”。

  “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”除了獲得鄉村歌曲榜冠軍之外，在Billboard Hot 100榜獲得2周第3名，也獲得Grammy 鄉村合唱團獎。

Grover Washington Jr. with Bill Withers-Just the Two of Us

 

      R&B傳奇歌手及作曲人名人堂成員Bill Withers，3月30日(2020)已經因心因性疾病去世，享年81歲，他留下很多珍貴的專輯、電台節目錄音帶與下一世代名歌手們翻唱的他的名曲，儘管回頭看他的一生都很謙虛，2015年搖滾名人堂的入選演講他有很漂亮的總結，他說: "Stevie Wonder了解我的個性，凡事總是要先看清楚再說"，"是兄弟們送我進名人堂"。

     Bill Withers是美國西維吉尼亞州人，因1970代多首暢銷曲而知名，包括"Just the Two of Us" "Lovely Day" "Lean on Me"等。

      Bill Withers得過三座Grammy獎，製作人Questlove說Withers有點黑人的Bruce Springsteen的架勢。

     "Just the Two of Us"是Grover Washington Jr. with Bill Withers聯名推出的暢銷曲，1981年獲得Billboard Hot 100榜3週第2名及Grammy最佳R&B歌曲獎，Withers以他輕柔的歌喉配上Grover Washington Jr. 醉人的薩克斯風配樂成為一首柔美的爵士風味經典歌曲，Will Smith 1997以心動的饒舌調子為他兒子翻唱這首歌也進入top 20。
