Simon & Garfunkel -Homeward Bound

  Grammy獎辦演唱會向Paul Simon致敬，參與演出的有Dave Matthews, Brad Paisley等現今知名藝人的特色表演。

  大會和CBS唱片公司宣布這一場特別的演唱會是為了向獲得16次Grammy獎的Paul Simon致敬。

  "Homeward Bound: A GRAMMY Salute to the Songs of Paul Simon"將於4月6日在好萊塢 Pantages Theatre戲院舉行。

  一個Grammy-獎得主的黃金陣容與過往及現今獲得提名過的歌星們將向Paul Simon這位傳奇歌手與作曲人的一生獻上最深的敬意。

  參加這場盛會的歌手有:  Brandi Carlile, Rhiannon Giddens, Angélique Kidjo, Little Big Town, Dave Matthews, Brad Paisley, Billy Porter, Shaggy, Take 6, Irma Thomas,及 Trombone Shorty。

  Paul Simon 1941年出生於美國紐澤西州紐瓦克，在紐約Queens區成長，中學時代認識Art Garfunkel之後倆人就開始一起玩音樂，1964年他們推出了第一張專輯，1971年與Garfunkel分手後開始個人的歌唱事業。

  Paul Simon暢銷曲很多，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第223名，2001年獲選進入搖滾樂名人堂，他在Billboard Hot 100單曲排行榜上名次最好的歌是 1975年獲得3周冠軍的"50 Ways To Leave Your Lover"，而另一首獲得Billboard Hot 100單曲排行榜第2名的"Loves Me Like A Rock "則在Cash Box錢櫃雜誌獲得冠軍。

  本次活動的主題"Homeward Bound "「回鄉之旅」 是Simon & Garfunkel 1966年獲得第5名的一首名曲。

ABBA -Chiquitita

    ABBA 最近發行一首他們1979年暢銷曲"Chiquitita"的新版歌詞視頻，這段視頻已經貼上這個瑞典合唱團的YouTube頻道，"Chiquitita"原來於1979年推出，是他們第七張專輯《Voulez-Vous》當中推出的第一首單曲，由團員Agnetha Fältskog擔任主唱。

    這首歌作曲及製作是Benny Andersson 與Björn Ulvaeus，在Billboard Hot 100排行榜獲得過第29名，在全球各地廣受歡迎。

    ABBA合唱團組成於瑞典斯德哥爾摩，團名是四名團員的名字第一個字母拼成，ABBA於1974年以"Waterloo " (#6) 走紅，作品很多，在歷年暢銷歌星及合唱團排行榜獲得第215名，百老匯舞台劇Mamma Mia即採用ABBA的暢銷曲，後並拍成電影。

       ABBA合唱團於1982年解散。

Linda Ronstadt-Heat Wave

  上週介紹Glass Animals 的 “Heat Waves”，乍聽之下以為是一首老歌新唱曲，經查資料發現不同，那一首老歌“Heat Wave”最早由Martha &The Vandellas於1963年推出，最高獲得第4名。1975年Linda Ronstad重新翻唱獲得第5名。

  Martha &The Vandellas是 一個來自底特律的黑人女聲三重唱，主唱是Martha Reeves，他們除了“Heat Wave”之外，在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1964年獲得第2名的Dancing in the street，這首歌在滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜獲得第40名，是一首進入搖滾樂名人堂的經典歌曲，很多人翻唱，名次都沒有超過她們。

  Linda Ronstad來自亞利桑那州Tucson，是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第70名的巨星，她在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1974年獲得冠軍的“You're No Good”，她翻唱 Martha &The Vandellas 的“Heat Wave” 頗為傳神，令人一曲難忘，可惜2013年她宣告自己獲得帕金森氏病，自此退出歌壇，令人不勝唏噓。

Glass Animals-Heat Waves

   一首2020年6月中推出的歌，於2022年3月在Billboard Hot 100排行榜得到冠軍。

  Glass Animals 的 “Heat Waves” 之百名登頂奪冠之旅(經過59周)，打破了Mariah Carey的“All I Want for Christmas Is You”於 2019年12月所創35周的紀錄。

  在前所未有的奪冠過程進行中，“Heat Waves”在大多數的廣播電台熱播，也在TikTok「抖音」和網路串流大受歡迎。

 

  Glass Animals是一個來自英國Oxford的Alternative rock另類搖滾樂團，主唱是Dave Bayley，2014年推出第一張專輯〈Zaba〉，其中有英國的暢銷曲"Gooey"，第二張專輯〈How to Be a Human Being〉於2018年推出，獲得了樂評人的肯定並使他們得到年度新人獎，第三張專輯〈Dreamland〉其中的"Tokyo Drifting"獲得Billboard Alternative Songs chart.另類歌曲榜第7名。

  Glass Animals原是一個Indie rock「獨立搖滾」樂團，有punk rock龐克背景，因要進排行榜賣唱片，自然要跟主流唱片公司結合，另類搖滾比較適合他們的定位。

  "Heat Waves" 2021年2月即獲得澳洲排行榜冠軍，今年3月終於在美國登頂。

Frank Zappa-Valley Girl

   1968到 69的某一個夜晚，Alice Cooper和Mike Bloomfield 、Jimi Hendrix、Elvin Bishop 都同在一個錄音室裡，這幾個頂尖的吉它手都玩著吉它，間或獨奏一段，突然Frank Zappa起來模仿現場每一位大咖的名曲，也彈奏了他自己的作品，Jimi Hendrix臉上浮現的是震驚，其他人都被Frank吉它彈奏的精湛技巧感到非常驚訝，他們那時起就成為好朋友。

   在the Toronto Rock n’ Roll Revival 1969，多倫多一場搖滾樂演唱會時，有一隻雞跑到舞台上，Alice抓起雞來丟到觀眾群裡，原以為雞會飛走，沒想到雞落地後被群眾撕碎。

  這意外接著變成頭條新聞，很多人相信Alice Cooper 咬下了雞頭，當Frank Zappa聽到這個意外的消息，他打電話給Alice Cooper求證，Alice否認這個傳言，但Frank Zappa勸他出面講出事實，並告訴Alice你有做就承認，不要說你沒做。

  Frank Zappa 1940年出生於美國馬利蘭州巴爾地摩，在加州聖地牙哥成長，1993年底因攝護腺癌去世，他是一位諷刺風的搖滾樂手，樂評人定位他的歌路是Mock rock (模仿嘲弄他人搖滾)，他也是The Mothers of Invention合唱團的創團人，Frank Zappa 1995年進搖滾樂名人堂，1997年獲得Grammy終身成就獎，他在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1982年獲得過第32名的“Valley Girl”，這首歌由他女兒Moon Unit Zappa領銜，1983年曾以歌的概念改拍過電影，由尼可拉斯凱吉主演。

  “Valley Girl” 是Frank Zappa所寫的歌，他當年14歲的女兒Moon Unit Zappa一直希望有機會和他老爹一起工作，Frank Zappa的回憶錄中提及: Moon和他午夜去一間錄音室，主要是一同寫一些對話，Moon還約了朋友一起去，Moon提供了大部分的歌詞，有的來自派對、酒吧、戒律和逛商店街時的記憶。這首歌在1980年代早期加州的少女圈成為話題，“Valley Girl”也成了Frank Zappa唯一的Top 40暢銷曲。
