一位伊利諾州的男子聲稱Elton John 1985年推出的的暢銷曲"Nikita,"抄襲自他早三年之前寫的歌，並向聯邦法庭提起訴訟，其實這首歌的歌詞是Elton John的老搭擋Bernie Taupin寫的，Elton John的發言人表示此事毫無根據，這人等了26年才提提告，原因竟然是1984年他搬到非洲去了。
"Nikita,"是1986年得過第7名的歌，背景合聲是George Michael。

Neil Diamond 再婚
Neil Diamond 4月25日與他的經紀人Katie McNeil在洛杉磯結婚了，這是71歲的Neil Diamond第三次結婚，新娘今年42歲是第一次結婚，他們倆是於去年九月宣佈訂婚的消息。

Dick Clark病逝
Dick Clark這位在美國ABC電視聯播網主持"American Bandstand" 與 "Rockin' New Years Eve"節目，且被暱稱"Americas Oldest Teenager,"「美國最老青少年」的主持人，4月18日在加州Santa Monica一家醫院病故(82歲),，Dick Clark出生於紐約州的Mt. Vernon，在上大學之前就在電台主持節目，後來他在Syracuse大學拿到商業學位，他接著主持了很多廣播與電視節目，但事業的突破則因為搬到賓洲後鄰居Ed McMahon幫他介紹到WFIL電台，當時原主持人Bob Horn因酒駕出事被炒魷魚，他接手這家電台的舞曲節目"Bandstand"，一年後ABC聯播網挑了這個節目做全美聯播並改名"American Bandstand."，Dick雖然不無爭議，因他與唱片公司及出版社來往密切，使他受到眾議院查賄委員的注意，ABC強烈要求他擺脫那些爭議與利益，他自那之後就獲得自清，Dick持續主持"Bandstand"節目到1963年，然後改每週主持一次直到1987年。

Levon Helm癌末
The Band合唱團的傳奇人物，鼓手Levon Helm的家人四月17日宣佈Levon走到了癌症末期，希望大家獻上祝福給這位熱愛表演的71歲老人能安渡這段人生的旅程，也感謝歌友們給他的一生充滿了歡笑與祝福，Levon Helm自2007年開始與喉癌奮鬥。
The Band合唱團於紐約Woodstock組成，團員都來自加拿大，只有Levon Helm是美國阿肯色州人，他們是Bob Dylan的背景和聲樂團，在大導演Martin Scorcese的記錄片The Last Waltz當中有他們的表演。

Robin Gibb病危

Charlie Daniels白內障開刀
最近有謠言Charlie Daniels眼睛瞎了，其實他的視力因為白內障的關係而下降，但已用最先進的手術開刀，預估視力很快會恢復過來。
Charlie Daniels 1936年出生於北卡羅萊納州Wilmington，他是一位成功的鄉村搖滾歌手與小提琴手，這個樂團曾在電影Urban Cowboy「都市牛仔」當中現身演出，但自1994年起改唱福音歌曲。

When some guy walked in and said, "Who owns this car
With the peace sign, the mag wheels and the four on the floor?"
Well he looked at me and I damn near died
And I decided that I'd just wait outside
So I laid a dollar on the bar and headed for the door
Just when I thought I'd get outta there with my skin
These 5 big dudes come strollin' in
With this one old drunk chick and some fella with green teeth
Now I was almost to the door when the biggest one
Said, "You tip your hat to this lady, son!"
And when I did, all that hair fell out from underneath
Now the last thing I wanted was to get into a fight
In Jackson Mississippi on a Saturday night
Especially when there was three of them and only one of me
They all started laughin' and I felt kinda sick

一齣使用15首Chicago合唱團暢銷曲的歌舞劇「芝加哥的二紳士」"Two Gentlemen of Chicago,"，自3月23日於加州Troubador劇場公司位於的Burbank的Falcon戲院開始演出後，將於4月22日落幕，但將安排其它地點繼續演出。
Chicago合唱團是一個帶有爵士風的搖滾樂團，本來叫The Big Thing，1969年自芝加哥轉往洛杉磯後改名Chicago Transit Authroity，但那年底就直接叫Chicago了，他們的主唱Peter Cetera於1985年離團而去，但創團元老Robert Lamm與新舊團員仍以Chicago之名演出。
Chicago合唱團是1970年代第5名，1980年代第21名，歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團第20名的傑出爵士搖滾樂團，與1960年代同時崛起的Blood，Sweat＆Tears曲風相似，但Chicago氣較長，商業成就也比Blood，Sweat＆Tears好很多。
Chicago有三首於排行榜連續獲二週冠軍的歌：If You Leave Me Know、Hard To Say I’m Sorry及Look Away，其中1988年的Look Away是Peter Cetera 1985年離團之後的作品，印證少了王牌主唱後的新組合仍有其魅力。

黑人女歌星Gladys Knight最近簽約要演一齣電視影集「第一家庭」裡總統的母親，這齣戲是製作人Byron Allen為一不知名的電視聯播網所策劃，Gladys Knight早在1985年即曾於電視劇集Charlie＆Co當中演出過。
Gladys Knight＆The Pips是歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜第47名的R＆B合唱團，1961年即以Pips之名推出Every Beat Of My Heart獲得R＆B排行榜冠軍（熱門流行榜第6名），他們是一個來自亞特蘭大的R＆B家族合唱團，在R＆B排行榜共有10首冠軍曲，但於流行榜則只有1973年的Midnight Train To Georgia一首冠軍曲。
