Gladys Knight將演電視劇

黑人女歌星Gladys Knight最近簽約要演一齣電視影集「第一家庭」裡總統的母親，這齣戲是製作人Byron Allen為一不知名的電視聯播網所策劃，Gladys Knight早在1985年即曾於電視劇集Charlie＆Co當中演出過。


Gladys Knight＆The Pips是歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜第47名的R＆B合唱團，1961年即以Pips之名推出Every Beat Of My Heart獲得R＆B排行榜冠軍（熱門流行榜第6名），他們是一個來自亞特蘭大的R＆B家族合唱團，在R＆B排行榜共有10首冠軍曲，但於流行榜則只有1973年的Midnight Train To Georgia一首冠軍曲。



Gladys Knight＆The Pips在1996年獲選入搖滾樂名人堂。



Gladys Knight於1985年曾與Elton John及Stevie Wonder以Dionne＆The Friends之名參加Dionne Warwick的為AIDS研究基金募款的歌That’s What Friends Are For的錄製，Elton John及Stevie Wonder 1983年即曾在I guess that ‘s w hy They Call It Blues歌中以鋼琴與口琴合作過，而That’s What Friends Are For這首歌是Burt Bacharach 與Carole Bayer Sager所寫，1982年即曾在凱文柯斯那與麥克基頓主演的電影Night Shift「銷魂大夜班」裡由Rod Stewart唱過。



Gladys Knight個人於1989年曾替007電影Licence To Kill「雷霆殺機」唱過同名主題曲，在R＆B排行榜獲得第69名，該片片頭以此曲搭配精心設計的畫面，令人過目難忘，在007電影各主題曲中極具特色。
