  發源自美國深南方的藍調音樂演變至搖滾樂興起的1960年代,已有比較電子化的伴奏,名稱也改稱 R&B (rhythm & blues)。 (Gladys Knight & ThePips)即是其中的佼佼者。

  來自喬治亞州亞特蘭大的節奏藍調家族組合 (Gladys Knight & The Pips)：團員（Gladys Knight，1944年5月28日出生）、她的哥哥 (Merald “Bubba” Knight)、妹妹 (Brenda) 以及表兄 (Wiliam Guest) 和 (Elea Guest)。樂團以他們的經紀人、表兄 (James “Pip” Woods) 的名字命名為“Pips”。

  該樂團於1958年首次和布倫瑞克唱片公司(Brunswick)簽約。1959年 Brenda 和Elea 分別被表兄 Edward Patte和 Langston George 取代。 1962年，Langston 離開樂團，此後該團一直保持四人組合的形式。

The Rolling Stones-Heart Of Stone

    今天來回憶一首搖滾樂界代表性樂團(the RollingStones)第三張專輯《the RollingStones,now!》當中的一首歌〈Heart Of Stone〉。這張專輯在滾石雜誌 RS500 排行榜獲得第181名,雖然年代久遠但有其搖滾樂界的代表性。

  The Rolling Stones 這個受藍調影響的搖滾樂團成立於英國倫敦：成員包括：Mick Jagger（主唱；生於1943年 ）、 Keith Richards（主音吉他）、Brian Jones（吉他； 1969年7月13日溺水身亡，年僅27歲）、Bill Wyman（貝斯；）和 Charie Watts （鼓手）。樂團的名字來自 Muddy Waters 的一首歌。他們以「壞男孩」(the bad boys)的形象進行宣傳，與披頭四形成鮮明對比。Mick Taylor 於1969年取代Brian Jones。 Ronnie Wood 則於 1975年取代 Mick Taylor。

  電影《給我庇護》（Gimme Shelter）是一部記錄樂團在1969年阿爾塔蒙特音樂節(the 1969 Altamont concert)表演的紀錄片。Bill Wyman於1992年底離開樂團。貝斯手 Darryi Jones 被列為「伴奏樂手」於1994年加入。許多人認為他們是世界上最偉大的搖滾樂團。

The Beatles-You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

     今天來回憶一張披頭四專輯《Help!》當中的歌。

  「1965年《Help!》發行的時候，我其實是在呼救，」John Lennon 約翰·藍儂在1980年接受《花花公子》雜誌David Sheff 採訪時說道。「大多數人認為這只是一首快節奏的搖滾歌曲。當時我並沒有意識到這一點；我寫這首歌只是因為受邀為電影創作。但後來，我知道我真的是在呼救，那是我肥胖的時期」。

  1970年12月8日於紐約接受《滾石》雜誌記者Jann Wenner的採訪時，Lennon將《Help!》和《Strawberry Fields Forever》描述為「個人作品」。 「它們一直被認為是我的佳作，」Lennon說。 「它們是我真正根據自身經歷創作的，而不是把自己帶入某種情境，然後寫一個美好的故事。」在採訪的後半段，Lennon談到《Help!》時說：「歌詞現在和當時一樣好。沒有任何不同，這讓我感到安心，因為我知道我當時對自己有如此清晰的認識。當時我只是在做真心實意的版本，『Help!』我是為了真實性。

  在《Help!》之後，原本計劃拍攝第三部披頭四電影，但最終未能實現。

  〈Help!〉和〈Yesterday〉都是經典之作，而且都非常成功，更不用說它們本身也是很棒的歌曲了。B-5的《I've Just Seen a Face》的開頭和弦演奏非常精彩，旋律優美——這與他們早期的作品風格迥異——而且這首歌節奏明快，是一首動感十足的搖滾佳作。但〈You've Got To Hide Your Love Away〉展現了Lennon內省的創作才華。它被譽為在這張專輯中最棒的一首歌。
