Sister Sledge

Sister Sledge女子合唱團的創團團員Joni Sledge在亞利桑那州鳳凰城去世，死因還不清楚。

Joni與她的姊妹 Debra、 Kim 及Kathy於1971年在費城組了Sister Sledge這個合唱團，她們起初替一家叫Money的唱片公司錄唱片，直到1975年在Atco唱片公司出的"Love Don't You Go Through No Changes On Me"才進了排行榜前100名，這一首歌雖然在排行榜上最高只得到92名，但是在日本東京舉辦的音樂節得到銀牌獎。

Sister Sledge這個四人女聲合唱團後來遇到製作人Bernard Edwards 與 Chic 合唱團的Niles Rogers 才開始轉運，"He's The Greatest Dance" 於1979年獲得了第9名，接著"We Are Family" (#2-1979)讓她們登上了事業巔峰。

好花不常開，Sister Sledge接著六張單曲只有翻唱Mary Wells 的成名曲"My Guy" 於1982年獲得第23名。

Kathy Sledge於1989年離團去從事個人的歌唱事業，但其餘三姊妹還繼續撐著Sister Sledge的招牌。

The Surfaris

1960年代初期的青少年搖滾樂團the Surfaris的吉他手Jim Fuller，三月三日病逝於加州Monrovia(69歲)。

The Surfaris來自加州Glendora，主唱是鼓手Ron Wilson，已於1989年因腦瘤去世(44歲)。

The Surfaris只有一首暢銷曲"Wipe Out" (#2-1963) 但是這一首演奏曲於1966年及1970年二度重新發行，1966年版曾再度獲得16名的好成績，是一首非常受歡迎的演奏曲，已被收進搖滾樂名人堂。

David Cassidy

David Cassidy二月20日宣布他患了老年癡呆症，今年已經66歲的他祖父和母親都因這個病而受過很長一段時間的折磨。

David Cassidy公開患病訊息後沒幾天還在加州Agoura辦了一場演唱會，在演出時他口齒不清、忘記歌詞、自己拿麥克風往臉上打、最後還摔下舞台。

David Cassidy在上月底宣布退出表演了五十年的演藝事業，以專心去照顧自己的身體健康。

David Cassidy 1950年出生於紐約曼哈頓區，父母親都是演員(Jack Cassidy與Evelyn Ward)在1970年代很受歡迎的電視影集The Partridge Family｢歡樂滿人間｣裡飾演大兒子Keith而走紅，1977-1983年曾與模特兒Kay Lenz結婚，在弟弟Shun Cassidy的百老匯舞台劇Blood Brothers也曾擔綱演出。

除了The Partridge Family合唱團的幾首暢銷曲如I Think I Love Yoy﹑Doesn’t Somebody Want To Be Wanted...之外，David Cassidy個人曾翻唱原來是The Association 1966年的冠軍曲Cherish，於1971年獲得過第九名，1990年復出推出的Lyin’To Myself則得過第27名。

Johnny & the Hurricanes

Johnny & the Hurricanes 的吉他手Dave Yorko二月17日病逝於俄亥俄州Waterville一間的安養院(73歲)。

Johnny & the Hurricanes是一個來自俄亥俄州Toleedo的搖滾樂隊，領隊是薩克斯風手Johnny"Paris"Pocisk，Dave離開學校去參加這個樂隊，1959 至 1961年他們以搖滾樂的節拍去演奏民歌，受到了歌迷們的喜愛，有好幾首曲子進過排行榜，其中最有名的就是1959年的搖滾版Red River Valley-Red River Rock，當年曾獲得第五名。

Dave Yorko離開Johnny & the Hurricanes之後和不少Ohio地區的樂隊工作過，之後退出流行音樂圈，成為一個平凡的上班族，在往後的五十年裡，他只有上台表演過二次。

Johnny & the Hurricanes的領隊Pocisk已於2006年因白血病過世(65歲)。

The Ides of March

伊理諾伊州Cicero的Morton學院二月十日推薦前the Ides of March 與Survivor合唱團的團員Jim Peterik進學校新開辦的名人堂，Jim出席了這個活動，並且演唱了Vehicle及Eye Of The Tiger這二首名曲。

The Ides of March是1960年代後期於芝加哥組成的搖滾樂團，Jim Peterik當年是主唱兼吉他手，團名 Ides of March來自莎士比亞的｢凱薩大帝｣劇中台詞，他們的Vehicle曾經於1970年獲得第二名，是該團唯一一首進排行榜前四十名的歌。

1980年代的Survivor合唱團成績則好過the Ides of March很多了，他們在歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜獲得第260名，Jim Peterik在Survivor擔任主鍵琴手，除了電影｢洛基｣第三集的插曲Eye Of The Tiger於1982年獲得六周冠軍之外，他們還有｢洛基｣第四集的插曲Burning Heart等五首排行榜前十名的暢銷曲。

Sonny Geraci 晚境淒涼

前the Outsiders及後來的 Climax合唱團主唱 Sonny Geraci二月五日不幸去世(69歲)，四年來他一直為腦瘤所苦。

The Outsiders最初是克里夫蘭的一個樂隊叫the Starfires，1965年他們進Capitol唱片時改名The Outsiders，很快的就推出了"Time Won't Let Me" (#5-1966), "Girl In Love" (#21-1966), "Respectable" (#15-1966) 及"Help Me Girl" (#37-1966)這些排行榜前40名的暢銷曲，但是這幾首歌的成功似乎只是曇花一現，團員們因內鬨而分手，Sonny Geraci重組Outsiders，並改投Bell唱片公司旗下，但因團名有使用權問題，Geraci只好改團名為Climax。

1970年Climax錄了"Precious And Few"，但這一首歌在倉庫裡擺了二年，直到1972年才因加州Santa Barbara的電台播出而受歡迎，且獲得排行榜第三名的佳績，但接著推出的"Life And Breath"只得到第52名，1976年Sonny Geraci解散了Climax。

Sonny脫離音樂圈25年後以Peter Emmett之名出過一張專輯，然後他回頭演唱the Outsiders 與 Climax時代的老歌，但是2012年終於因腦瘤終止了他的演唱事業，2013年十一月朋友們曾替Sonny Geraci在俄亥俄州Streetsboro開了一場致敬演唱會，收入替他支付醫療費。

The Righteous Brothers

加州Hermosa Beach警方元月30日宣布他們透過兇手親戚DNA的驗證，確認1976年the Righteous Brother 二重唱的成員Bill Medley的妻子遭殺害的兇手身分，這個兇犯已經於1982年因為偷竊和多起性侵案入獄，但是在脫逃時遭警衛擊斃。

Bill Medley與Karen Klaas於1964年結婚，Karen遭殺害之後Bill Medley獨力將他們的兒子扶養長大。

The Righteous Brothers是著名的白人靈魂歌曲Blue-Eyed Soul二重唱，Bill Medley唱男中音，Bobby Hatfield唱男高音，他們1964年第四名的暢銷曲Unchained Melody後來被電影Ghost｢第六感生死戀｣選用，因大受歡迎而重新發行，於1990年又獲得13名。
