Paul Simon 6月27日因病取消了在英格蘭Bournemouth的演出，這是他預訂六場演唱會其中之一。


Paul Simon出生於紐澤西州的紐瓦克（1941），但是在紐約的Queens成長，是一位出色的歌手、作曲與吉它手，他與Art Garfunkel合組的Simon＆Garfunkel二重唱，是1960年代後期民謠搖滾的經典，2003年葛萊美已頒給他們終生成就獎。1971年他們分手之後，Paul Simon個人的歌唱事業依然很成功，在歷年暢銷歌星排行榜獲得第190名，2001年他個人即已被選入搖滾樂名人堂，他與Art Garfunkel分手後的第一首Top10的歌是1972年曾獲得第4名的一首很好聽的歌Mother And Child Reunion。

Glen Campbell患阿茲海默症

Glen Campbell 6月22日宣怖它將於8月推出下一張專輯唱片之後退休，今年秋天他會舉辦一系列的告別演唱會，現年已75歲的Glen Campbell半年前檢查出患有阿茲海默症，Glen表示：他依然熱愛音樂，依然喜歡為他的歌迷表演，他感謝歌迷們多年來對他的不離不棄。


因阿茲海默這種記憶力逐漸喪失的老年痴呆症而離開歌壇，說來挺令人感傷的。

Glen Campbell出生於阿肯色州Delight是一位成功的天才型的吉它手、作曲與鄉村流行歌手，最早因加入叔父的Dick Bill’s Band而前去洛杉磯，後來與The Champs（知名搖滾樂團有1958年冠軍演奏曲Tequlia）合作過，當時Glen Campbell已經是錄音室紅人，之後他還加入過The Hondells、The Beachboys與Sagittarius，1968-1972年他主持過電視節目，約翰韋恩還找他演最近重拍的西部片True Grit「大地驚雷」，從1962-1993年 Glen Campbell有75首鄉村歌曲與42首抒情歌曲進榜，而在流行榜上他是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第84名的巨星。

Glen Campbell的成名曲是1968年獲得第3名的Wichita Lineman，這首歌在滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜獲得192名。

Carole King明年出自傳

Carole King 6月13日宣佈她的自傳Natural Woman將在明年4月出版。


1971年的今天（6/19）Carole King的單曲It's Too Late 與反面的I Feel The Earth Move開始連續五週在排行榜獲得冠軍，這二首歌都是她的專輯唱片Tapestry當中的歌。

Carole King是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第291名的出名女歌星、作曲人，也擅於鋼琴，1959年Neil Sedaka為她寫了Oh Carole這首歌，曾獲得第9名，但1958年她就和作曲人Gerry Goffin結婚，這對詞曲搭擋寫出了4首排行榜冠軍曲，包括Will You Love Me Tomorrow、Go Away Little Girl、Take Good Care Of My Baby與the Loco Motion，1971年Carole King因專輯唱片Tapestry與其中的單曲替她得了四座葛萊美獎，她和Goffin於1968年離婚，但他們的女兒Lousie Goffin 1979年也踏入歌壇。

Carole King是搖滾樂紀元最成功的女作曲家。

Tapestry專輯唱片的標題歌Tapestry沒有推出過單曲，但也是一首非常好聽的歌。

憶Henry Mancini

1994年六月14日流行音樂作曲家Henry Mancini因癌症去世（70歲），他寫的Moon River是電影Breakfast at Tiffany's「第凡內早餐」的插曲，女主角奧黛麗赫本還親自演唱這首歌，後來Andy Williams的電視節目也以這首歌當主題歌，Henry Mancini替Andy Williams鋼琴伴奏一同表演這首歌的畫面真是令人難忘。


Moon River在1961年獲得過第11名，是當年奧斯卡最佳電影歌曲，也得到葛萊美年度歌曲獎。Henry Mancini還有1969年的一首冠軍曲Love Theme from Romeo And Juliet，是電影「殉情記」的插曲。Henry Mancini錄了超過90張專輯唱片，其中有一百多首電影插曲，包括卡通影片「粉紅豹」的插曲Theme From The Pink Panther。

Henry Mancini年輕時在環球電影公司專任電影作曲，他一生得過四座奧斯卡獎與20座葛萊美音樂獎，四、五年級的朋友們如果聽到他的「第凡內早餐」、「殉情記」、「粉紅豹」、「哈泰利」與「瘋狂大賽車」等這些電影插曲，一定是如煙往事重上心頭吧！

Sly Stone一直有吸毒麻煩

Sly Stone因為心臟病6月10日在洛杉磯住院，他因此無法出庭回應擁有古柯鹼的指控，4月1日Sly Stone搭別人所開的車被路檢，結果在車上發現有毒品，他說不是他的但警察不信，這個案子的開庭日已改到6月15日。


來自洛杉磯的Psychedelic Soul「迷幻靈魂」合唱團 Sly＆The Family Stone是歷年暢銷歌星與合唱團排行榜第214名的知名合唱團，主唱就是Sylvester”Sly Stone”Stewart(3/15/1944出生於德州Dallas)，這是一個黑白混合的R＆B家族合唱團，1970年代中期因Sly Stone吸毒問題纏身，歌唱事業因而一落千丈，非常可惜，他們排行榜上共有三首獲冠軍的歌（Everyday People、Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin、Family Affair），其中以1968年獲四週冠軍的everyday People名次最好，這首歌在滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜排第145名。

1987年的今天（6月8日）Luther Vandross伴奏樂隊的鼓手Yogi Horton從17樓跳樓自殺，他曾告訴太太：他受不了永遠活在Vandross的陰影裡，Yogi Horton也曾和The B-52's、Diana Ross與Blonde的 Debbie Harry.一同工作過。

Andrew Gold去世

以1977年獲得第7名的Lonely Boy 這首歌讓歌迷們印象深刻的Andrew Gold，6月3日因心臟病去世（59歲），Andrew出生於加州Burbank一個音樂世家，父親Ernest Gold是獲奧斯卡金像獎電影歌曲獎的電影插曲Exodus「出埃及記」的作曲人，母親Marni Nixon則為電影「西城故事」當中女主角娜坦麗華，和電影「窈窕淑女」當中的女主角奧黛麗赫本幕後代唱歌手。


Andrew Gold最早參加過一個洛杉磯合唱團Bryndle，團員有後來也單飛的Karla Bonoff，但他因為幫Linda Ronstadt五張專輯編曲，和擔任1975年Linda的冠軍曲You're No Good吉它伴奏而成名，1975年他也出了個人第一張專輯，但仍持續幫Linda Ronstadt工作二年多，這種交情也讓Linda Ronstadt幫他具名唱Lonely Boy的背景和聲，Andrew Gold還幫過Cher, John Lennon, 10cc, Eric Carmen, Stephen Bishop這些大牌歌星伴奏，而Karla Bonoff 1983年19名的暢銷曲"Personally也由他製作。

Andrew Gold後來與10cc的團員Graham Gouldman組過二重唱Wax（後來改名Wax U.K），二人分手後Andrew於1989年重組Bryndle合唱團，他們1978年第25名的老歌Thank You For Being A Friend被選為電視影集「黃金女郎」的主題曲，倒是再一次引起歌迷們的注意。

James Taylor參加戒毒活動

James Taylor 5月25日參加了佛羅里達州Pinellas郡法院戒除毒品方案的結業式，他是去挺他的一名和聲，此人剛經歷三個月的勒戒，James在現場沒有演唱，但法院的工作人員在活動進行中的講話有借用他的名曲You've Got A Friend。


James Taylor是五座Grammy獎的得主，在1998年獲Billboard雜誌世紀歌星獎，2000年則獲選進入搖滾樂名人堂，光You've Got A Friend就替他拿到1971年年度代表歌曲、最佳男歌星與名人堂歌曲三獎項，這首歌與後來得過第31名的Long Ago And Far Away都是由來自加拿大的民歌手Joni Mitchell擔任和聲伴唱，是很動聽的二首歌。
