Glen Campbell患阿茲海默症

Glen Campbell 6月22日宣怖它將於8月推出下一張專輯唱片之後退休，今年秋天他會舉辦一系列的告別演唱會，現年已75歲的Glen Campbell半年前檢查出患有阿茲海默症，Glen表示：他依然熱愛音樂，依然喜歡為他的歌迷表演，他感謝歌迷們多年來對他的不離不棄。


因阿茲海默這種記憶力逐漸喪失的老年痴呆症而離開歌壇，說來挺令人感傷的。

Glen Campbell出生於阿肯色州Delight是一位成功的天才型的吉它手、作曲與鄉村流行歌手，最早因加入叔父的Dick Bill’s Band而前去洛杉磯，後來與The Champs（知名搖滾樂團有1958年冠軍演奏曲Tequlia）合作過，當時Glen Campbell已經是錄音室紅人，之後他還加入過The Hondells、The Beachboys與Sagittarius，1968-1972年他主持過電視節目，約翰韋恩還找他演最近重拍的西部片True Grit「大地驚雷」，從1962-1993年 Glen Campbell有75首鄉村歌曲與42首抒情歌曲進榜，而在流行榜上他是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第84名的巨星。

Glen Campbell的成名曲是1968年獲得第3名的Wichita Lineman，這首歌在滾石雜誌500大歌曲榜獲得192名。
