以1977年獲得第7名的Lonely Boy 這首歌讓歌迷們印象深刻的Andrew Gold，6月3日因心臟病去世（59歲），Andrew出生於加州Burbank一個音樂世家，父親Ernest Gold是獲奧斯卡金像獎電影歌曲獎的電影插曲Exodus「出埃及記」的作曲人，母親Marni Nixon則為電影「西城故事」當中女主角娜坦麗華，和電影「窈窕淑女」當中的女主角奧黛麗赫本幕後代唱歌手。
Andrew Gold最早參加過一個洛杉磯合唱團Bryndle，團員有後來也單飛的Karla Bonoff，但他因為幫Linda Ronstadt五張專輯編曲，和擔任1975年Linda的冠軍曲You're No Good吉它伴奏而成名，1975年他也出了個人第一張專輯，但仍持續幫Linda Ronstadt工作二年多，這種交情也讓Linda Ronstadt幫他具名唱Lonely Boy的背景和聲，Andrew Gold還幫過Cher, John Lennon, 10cc, Eric Carmen, Stephen Bishop這些大牌歌星伴奏，而Karla Bonoff 1983年19名的暢銷曲"Personally也由他製作。
Andrew Gold後來與10cc的團員Graham Gouldman組過二重唱Wax（後來改名Wax U.K），二人分手後Andrew於1989年重組Bryndle合唱團，他們1978年第25名的老歌Thank You For Being A Friend被選為電視影集「黃金女郎」的主題曲，倒是再一次引起歌迷們的注意。
